I've been here twice now, and I've had both the veggie burger and the regular beef cheeseburger.
A lot has already been said about the concept here, so I won't go into it, but I will say this: while the beef cheeseburger is fine, mine was overcooked. And the veggie burger just plain sucked (although i was expecting it to suck having read the other reviews here so I wasn't actually let down in any way).
Re: the veggie burger: if your restaurant is called Four Burgers, and you have pretty much just four things on your menu, when one of them actually tastes flat-out bad that means 25% of your whole business model is failing. Just an FYI, ya know?
On the other hand, the regular potato fries here are superb, and so are the waffle chips. And the service is really truly spectacular, their main server guy is totally on the ball.
Ordering burgers is kind of awkward. If you order a veggie burger, they assume it comes with guac and salsa, and if you say, "No, I want to build a veggie burger from scratch, just with mayo, tomatoes, and onions," then they have to enter the veggie burger on the register, remove the guac and the salsa, and then individually add your toppings. This is not very efficient and easily leads to confusion regarding which toppings you actually asked for.
I'll continue to come back here because my employees like it and it's walking distance from work, but I wouldn't eat here in any other context but work lunch.

The cannoli was fantastic, and beats Mike's hands-down as far as I'm concerned. I'll be coming back here.

You do get a good value for your burrito, though. If these folks could just get their burrito-arranging skill up to snuff, I would bump them up to 4 stars.
Ground rules:
1) This is a fast food burger, fried on a griddle. It's not a pub-style grilled burger. They are two fundamentally different preparations. Grease is part of the package: if you don't like a greasy burger, don't eat here.
2) Unless you are an exceptionally hungry person, you will do just fine ordering a small fries and a small burger. The "regular" burger is a towering monstrosity (of the best kind), so don't tackle it unless you're up for it. And don't be fooled by the size of the cups the fries are served in: the cup goes in a paper bag and is overflowed. A small fries will be more than enough for one person.
3) Enjoy some peanuts while you wait. It's part of the experience.
I don't have much to add that others haven't covered here, except that I vastly prefer the regular fries to the cajun fries (they are not battered like, say, Popeye's cajun fries, they just have a lot of cajun spice powder on them).
My favorite Five Guys burger construction: bacon, cheese, ketchup, raw onion, pickles, tomatoes, mayo, lettuce, jalepeno peppers.
Plus there's free masala tea.
I'm not sure I'd particularly recommend this over other buffets in the area but it is certainly good in its own right and a nice change of pace if you find yourself going to the same Indian buffet over and over.
I had the beef barg kebab sandwich, and it was pretty good. The meat was very well seasoned, although the topping choices were weird. I went with the Persian staple of tomatoes and onions. (Mayo on a kebab? Really?) My friend got his with hummus and said it was pretty good, although was less impressed with the beef kubideh (though again, agreed that it was well seasoned).
I also got their only Persian side dish, Shirazi salad. This is just tomatoes, onions, and cucumbers, chopped up in a dressing of olive oil, lemon, and mint. It was pretty good, and I added it as a topping to my sandwich.
Finally, they have Persian-style baklava, which is made with almonds and pistachios instead of walnuts. I really liked it.
Next time I'll try the chicken and will update my review with that.

So again, I repeat my refrain: get a slice at lunch! Don't bother with any other time or method.

Not sure what people are going on about with Hi Fi. They serve up a really nice slice of greasy (very very greasy), NY-style pizza. I don't like the sandwiches here or much of anything else, but their pizza is cheap and excellent. Note that I have *only* been here at lunch time -- for all I know, the pizza they make at 2am sucks, but at least at lunch, the food is good and this place is full of friendly people and staff.
Speaking of friendly, just today I ordered the two-slice-and-a-soda combo ($5.50!). The woman behind the counter who served me noticed that my two slices were smaller than my friend's. She gave me an extra slice for free to make up the difference. I didn't even ask! It was really nice of her.
Again, I recommend this place during, you know, regular hours.

Rosebud Diner

Neighborhood: Davis Square
Sadly, I can only give this place three stars. I am always let down by the food here. I came with a friend the other night and we ordered a waffle and "English Fries." The waffle was apparently the worst waffle my friend had ever had, and was probably frozen just prior, since it was late night and they weren't operating the grill anymore. The fries were just oversalted baked-then-fried potatoes cut into eighths with not enough malt vinegar. Bland and oversalty.
Other times I've come here the food has been similarly bad-to-mediocre, although you can't go wrong with a club sandwich.
On the other hand, they serve booze here. Did I mention that yet? Did I say it loudly enough? THIS IS A DINER FEATURING BOOZEAHOL. It is, in fact, one of my favorite places to drink in Davis. And they mix 'em strong here.
So, between the bad food and the existence of booze, the Rosebud gets three stars.
As far as food goes, I haven't had any full meals here, only the fries with aioli (amazing) and the bread with mushroom drip (pretty damn good).
For drinks, the draft menu is definitely above par. BBC Pale, Chimay, Arrogant Bastard, some Ommegang, Brooklyn Lager, etc. Nothing to sneeze at. The specialty cocktails are varied and unique, as well.
I also like the atmosphere here. Twice while drinking I've gotten into fun conversations with people sitting near me. I really like the kind of bar where I can strike up a conversation with a stranger, and so far The Independent has proven to be that kind of place.

Darius hasn't made any lists yet.

I'm also not sure when they started doing this, but they offer half-and-half fries: half sweet potato, half regular. That's a great idea.
I'm raising my review to four stars because the owner really seems to strive to improve the place. Every month there's a tweak that makes the restaurant slightly better.
