I had some saag paneer and butter chicken; you can pay by the pound ($6) or all-you-can-eat ($11). Naan was fresh, rice was quality. Granted, the selection is limited because it's a buffet, but for an accessible Indian fix for lunch that you don't need to take a taxi to, give it a try. And forgive the awkwardness of entering through the 7-Eleven; you'll forget all about it once you get upstairs and dig in.

I had a delicious mint mojito cocktail, and my friends had another lime & bourbon drink that was great.
For a appetizers we had some ceviche (with lots of calamari and other squiggly creatures) that was bright and refreshing, as well as some very fresh guacamole.
For an entre, I had their churrasco (a 12-oz NY strip steak, cooked perfectly). Friends had puerco en tequila (chipotle, tequila and honey sauced pork chops) and steak fajitas. I sampled it all, and it was all around top quality.
The place is a little pricey, about $40 per person including one drink apiece. Overall a pretty good experience. Great atmosphere for a date or more intimate conversation.

The food was 3 stars. Our appetizer was sweet bread with a spicy tomato stew sauce (delicious!). The entres we tried were ox tail and goat with various rices. They were good, but the meats were sinewy and tough. Flavor-wise, they were great.
But the service...lowest score wins.

Crisp

Tonight was my first visit to Crisp, and I was pretty impressed. The owner, Doug, was super nice and outgoing without being pushy. As I was eating, he asked me if it he could tell me about the chicken--he didn't just talk talk talk...he asked permission :)
I was in the mood for wings, and I was truthfully walking down the street to Avenue Tavern. I took a peek at the menu in the window (the wording is slightly confusing to me) and went in. The "giant wings" are in fact the entire wing, all three segments. So an order of 5 is like an order of 10 everywhere else.
The breading is the signature here. Very very thin and very crisp. I usually eschew breading on wings, but this was very good. The wing sauce is unique here, not your usual half Franks Red Hot, half butter. This was more of an Asian chili paste-based sauce. Very good, even if it wasn't exactly what I had in mind.
I'll be back to try the other sauces, and also I want to try the beef bolgogi burrito. Yum.
