Giugni W F & Son Grocery Co

When I attended Pacific Union College in nearby Angwin, this deli was the place everyone went to.  The deli is referred to just as Guigni's (Joo-nees) and their sandwiches are still the best I've come across.  They have a great selection of meats, cheeses, and breads, as well as fresh veggies.  And whatever sandwich you order be sure to get the Guigni Juice, it's fantastic.

The only downside to Guigni's is that the only seating available inside is dark and cramped, so you best option is to pick up your sandwich and a beverage and head to one of the nearby parks.  Crane Park and Lyman park were our favorites.

Yard House

With a bazillion beers on tap, and delicious appetizers, this is a great place to come and get a snack and get hammered before a movie.

The Chicken nachos are my favorite thing here, they're tasty and too massive to eat on your own.  The grilled artichoke is also quite good, and their burgers are great too.  But the main focus here are the beers.  If you like trying new stuff this is a great place to come and get cheap pints at happy hour, or upgrade to a half-yard of beer if you're feeling brave.

The only bad thing about this place is that it turns in to a cramped meat market with bouncers at the door on weekend nights.

While spending the summer in JT, Crossroads was the one place in a 40 mile radius  we could count on for a decent meal.  Their sandwiches are fantastic.

Siam Garden is still my favortite Thai restauraunt of all the ones I've been to.  The service can sometimes be a little spotty, but the food here is fantastic.  The Panang curry is what I HAVE to get when ever I come here.  It is literally my favorite restaurant dish anywhere.  Their Phad Thai and Phad See-ew are also fantastic, but nowhere near as addictive as the Panang.

They've got a few good beers (the Octoberfest was excellent) and some pretty decent pub food  ( I LOVE the garlic fries), with a few eclectic additions.

I haven't tried their buffet, but our standard Indian dishes we normaly order (CTM, lamb korma, samosas) just weren't up to par.  Lotus, up the street was much better

Great Indian in San Rafael.  We've tried their CTM and Lamb Korma, both fantastic.  Their vegetable samosas are great too.  I didn't care too much for their papadum, but I'm still not exactly sure why.

Sol Food Puerto Rican Cuisine

When I left Florida after living there a few years, the one thing I missed was the great Puerto Rican and Cuban food.  After I moved to San Rafael the last thing I expected to find was a Puerto Rican restaurant, but there it was, Sol Food.  And even more unexpectedly, the food here was amazing!  Great chicken, fantastic plantains, and even the rice is amazing.  I can't wait to try their tembleque.
