Warm, gooey boba is what I desire....crunchy, frozen boba is what I was given. Perhaps the boba experts from SoCal need to show you a thing or two about proper boba preparation.  Now, I do admire your pitiful attempt at creating 'bubble tea' for many but if patrons only knew how real boba is supposed to taste, they'd probably have your boba-making license revoked.

My experience here wasn't all bad. I did appreciate them accommodating my request for a strawberry-lychee slushee, which was delicious!  There was also an ample amount of seating so I didn't have to stand around while waiting for my beverage to be made because the lady before me ordered 10,001 strawberry-mango slushees.  Perhaps you may get a second chance Pochi...

Once again...you can't judge a book by it's contemporary & modern cover.

The quality of the sushi & restaurant items was decent at best & the ambiance was very welcoming. That's about it as far as kind words go.

My experience here was severely lacking in excellence & it all began with the host.  He seemed so wrapped up discussing nonsense with an uninterested co-worker that he didn't notice that 2 tables had already been cleared & were available for the many waiting to be seated.  Once seated, the server began collecting brownie points galore with the attentive service he provided.  Unfortunately, I subtracted all of those brownie points in what seemed like 2.5 seconds. I had paid a $17.05 check with a $100 bill (side bar: yes, I gots my hoes makin' money for me. Don't hate the playa, hate the game) and received the wrong amount of change back, including the incorrect check! I tried to get a hold of the server so he can quickly remedy the situation before an unsuspecting stranger walks away with more than he had walked in with but the server was already down the aisle with no sign of returning any time soon.  I got up to explain the situation to him but he seemed too busy filling water cups to do anything about it.  Once he was through, he came back to my table & asked what happened...as if I walked over there & told him nothing.  I explained the situation to him agaim & he apologized, walked over to the hostess table & frantically searched for the correct check & change.  After what seemed like years, he returned with cash in hand & another apology.

While these additional apologies may  suffice for some patrons, it did not have any effect on me.  I dropped a couple bucks for tip and stormed out of there with brownie points in hand.  Sayonara Blue C. It was a very unpleasant first date, which obviously goes to say that this will be our last date as well.

Not a big fan of this airport due to the size to visitor ratio but they were very efficient with getting people on and off the planes as soon as humanly possible!  The waiting area was also very cramped so I was lucky to find an open seat, let alone two open seats next to each other.  I did have to run and dive into it a little bit, but victory was mine!!  It also gets pretty stuffy so beware of potential foul body odors from those sitting around you.

The two most important things to keep in mind are: the lines and restroom size.  The lines for flight/baggage check-in get really long so make sure you have plenty of time to stand around and wait.  As for the restrooms, I only found one location with not many stalls so make sure you are able to wait patiently because those lines can get pretty long too.  Fortunately, the security check point staff very efficient while still making sure they screen baggage accurately so I was able to have some time to rest up before the nauseating flight back home.

Pesto Pizza = A-M-A-Z-I-N-G

To be perfectly honest, I only chose to eat here because I thought they actually served Elk Pizza.  After I found out they didn't, I decided to go with the Pesto Pizza because all of the other menu items didn't leap off the page & smack me around as much as the Pesto Pizza did.

The wait was a little long but I'm thinking it was only because it smelled so good inside the restaurant. The aroma of spices, marinara, fresh baked pizza, etc made me drool a bit so I was filled with plenty of excitement by the time the pizza came out.  I quickly discovered that a small was WAY too small for two people.  We each had 2.5 slices each which did not suffice...especially since it was so DAMN GOOD!  The slight saltiness of the Parma ham paired nicely with the slightly sweet roma tomatoes, and the subtle earthiness of the portabello mushrooms rounded out the wonderful flavor components of the pizza.  There was also a perfect amount of pesto so the end result was a very pleased palate!

PS. I ordered a large pizza to-go afterwards!

I came here for Happy Hour but missed it by a several minutes because I didn't adjust my clock from PST to CST.  Anyway, I still sat in the bar area because the service was much faster & after a long flight, I was hungry!

For starters, they give you a free basket of chips & salsa.  I'm not a big fan of spicy food so I was glad that the salsa was mild & fresh!  The guacamole is also made fresh so I ordered a side of that to accompany my free chips.  At first I was a bit hesitant because it was a bit pricey but after one bite, I was officially hooked!  There was an even amount of lime, cilantro, tomatoes, onions, etc so there wasn't a particular ingredient that overpowered the guacamole like some other restaurants do (*ahem* On The Border).

For dinner I ordered the Cast Iron Seared Ribeye because of 2 key items: chimichurri & sweet potato fries.  The ribeye was prepared medium, which was perfect, but the warm bacon chimichurri wasn't very appetizing.  The bacon made the dish so salty that I literally had to scrape it all off to the side & even cut off parts of the steak that touched it.  I really enjoyed the sweet potato steak fries minus the strange sour ranch-like dipping sauce.

I didn't have enough room for dessert so I called it quits with that.  I took some of my leftover steak home that night & it was still tasty the next morning....FYI.

The covered tub + lack of room decor was a bit of a downer but I liked everything else about this place!

My stay here was free (the BF won the week long trip from KROQ) so I was already expecting mediocre or sub-par service.  I was pleasantly surprised by the wonderful service by all staff members!  Everyone from the front desk to the housekeepers were incredibly helpful, which is something that you wouldn't really expect during a long stay because there's always that one staff member that ruins your entire experience thus resulting in a poor review on yelp.  I was especially pleased with the staff at ski/snowboard check-in.  They really go out of their way to help you!  While I sat trying to remove my boots, one of the staff members, cleaned the snow off my board, wiped it down, & placed it in my snowboard bag.

The rooms were pretty large and decor was decent but the bathroom was a bit questionable.  The tub was covered w/ a huge piece of wood that was painted the same color as the tub & walls so I had to take a second glance at the unusual counter in the bathroom to figure out that it used to be a tub.  I never got a chance to ask a staff member or housekeeping why it was covered so whomever visits there next, please ask!

I also visited the spa there since the trip was free.  After back to back days of snowboarding I was completely exhausted so I got the 60 minute mountain rejuvenation massage.  The masseuse was wonderful!  She was very attentive to my requests for a deep tissue massage in certain areas versus a softer touch in other areas.  The oils and music were also very soothing so it's no surprise that it was T.K.O. once the massage began.

I really enjoyed my stay here & would do it all over again in a second!

I opened up a new checking account here & I loved the service I received!

I had an appointment to speak with a banker named Chris that came highly recommended by a friend of mine.  Chris was pretty busy when I got there so I waited for a bit.  The manager came and talked to me and offered to set me up with another banker so I wouldn't have to wait long but I politely refused and continued to wait.  I didn't wait long, which was great because who wants to sit around and waste time on a perfectly good Saturday?!  Chris was friendly, funny, and ball of energy!!  He didn't try to use any forceful sales techniques by getting me to sign up for a bunch of accounts I didn't need and I appreciated that.  I also liked how thorough he was in defining the different checking account packages Wells Fargo offered and how it would work with my normal banking needs.  I really enjoyed the personalized service I received.

The manager, Cesar, that worked with the tellers was great too.  He was very welcoming when I stood at the teller line for what seemed like hours because I had a quite a few questions.  Cesar answered all my questions thoroughly...even the questions that I thought were pretty stupid.   I'm glad I made the switch from B of A!

C'est si bon!!

I can't say much about the lack of decor but who cares when the crepes are this good.  I'll get right to it....I had the Curry Crepe, Chicken-Spinach Crepe, Viva La France Crepe, and the Royal Crepe.  (Don't judge...I shared this with 2 other people).  Anyway, all were simply amazing!  My favorite had to be the dessert crepe, the Royal.  It's about $9 and it's got: strawberries, bananas, nutella, cream, powdered sugar, and chocolate.  For a buck more, you can have it a-la-mode, which is the best way to eat it.  The portions are perfect for 2 or maybe 3 if you're not that hungry.  I wouldn't suggest sharing the Royal because it's so good that it literally disappears in a few seconds.  Trust me, I had a fork war between the 2 that I was sharing it with....it wasn't pretty.

The service is quick, the staff is friendly, the prices are fair, and the food is delicious. What more can you ask for?

This is the mecca for all Burton fanatics...like myself.

If you're not from LA (or even if you are) I'm sure we can all agree that driving here is a bitch.  The traffic on Melrose is a nightmare!  Thankfully, this location is a little further away from the chaos of trendy shops.  It's conveniently situated near the corner of Fairfax & Melrose across the street from Fred Segal so it's pretty easy to locate.

Aside from the enormous collection of hard to find Burton gear, the one thing that I loved was the parking structure they had.  I had already anticipated spending about an hour trying to locate a decent parking spot so I was completely thrown off guard when I made the turn & found a ramp that led up to their lot.  What was even more interesting was the skate ramp that took up half the lot on the roof.  Pretty sick!

Anyway, what I particularly liked about this shop were hard-to-find snowboards & gear that aren't sold in most sporting goods stores & the friendly staff.  I was here with the BF because he was picking out his free snowboard he won on KROQ.  The sales guy, Mike, that was helping us out was VERY knowledgeable about the merchandise.  He asked a lot of questions about the BF's riding style, preference, etc and was able to help the BF pick out a great snowboard & bindings.  I also appreciated the fact that he wasn't pushy like most sales people.

I'll definitely be making a stop here when it's time to set myself up with some new gear....until then...I'll be enjoying my new Burton Custom Smalls on the slopes. Yeehaw!

$17 is the least expensive wash & it's only a basic one!!  I stopped by here because I was house hunting with the BF and I couldn't stand to drive around in a dirty white car.  I should've taken the hint that this wasn't a great place to randomly get my car washed when I drove by and saw very few people getting their cars washed on a Sunday morning.  Aren't those peak hours for car washes?

Anyway, I was already there and decided to give them the benefit of the doubt.  It took me awhile to get out of the car because of my fractured pelvis so I had the BF select the cheapest package.  I was suprised to find out that it was $17 for a basic wash!  I typically pay around $10-12 for washes like that.  So I'm thinking that I would've at least received great service and car wash for this but it was just average....almost similar to the drive thru car washes at gas stations.  I thought that the employees would get to vacuuming my car once I got out but they just sat there for awhile counting their tips.  I walked inside, paid, and sat outside waiting for my car to come out of the pressure wash.

My employee that was wiping down my car did a decent job.  There were a lot of water spots on the windows and different parts of my car but it was a little chilly outside so I didn't care to point it out because I just wanted to get home.  I did appreciate it when the employee drying my car drove the car closer so I wouldn't have to hobble all across the lot with crutches.
