I remember passing by this restaurant several times before it actually opened and was looking forward to having a Korean BBQ restaurant close by. I recently had dinner here with the boyfriend and some friends, and here's how it all went down...

The boyfriend and I arrived there first and mentioned that there would be a few others joining us shortly, and we were promptly seated at a table (this was probably the highlight of the entire dinner). As we paged through the menu, the first thing I noticed were the prices, which I thought were pretty high, especially for food you have to physically cook yourself. The boyfriend and I ended up sharing one of their grand opening specials while the rest ordered off their sushi menu. The soup that they served us was cold, when it should have been hot. I didn't really care for the side dishes that came with our meal. I've had better. We had to ask for rice, even though it was supposed to be included with our meal. There were probably only 2 other tables of guests at the restaurant, yet the service was extremely slow. One of my friends even asked where the buzzer on the table was (which is a staple at most Korean establishments). The meat was blah. We probably should have ordered some type of marinated meat instead of the "special". At other places we've gone to, the lack of marinade was compensated with some type of dipping sauce, which they didn't have there (unless you count the shoyu). Our appetites were not satiated after dinner here, even though we practically ate everything, and ended up going next door to Pinkberry.

If you want over-priced, mediocre food, then this place is for you. I'd rather save a couple dollars and head downtown. At least I'd be able to eat all I can.

This was the very first show I have ever seen in Vegas, and I loved it. The performers are so talented and have amazing abilities, and I was very impressed with the water stage set-up. I never thought these little shows could be so spectacular!

The Buffet at Bellagio

Before our last trip to Vegas, the boyfriend and I saw that the Bellagio Buffet was featured on the Travel Channel as one of the top buffets in the nation. Needless to say, we were so intrigued by the images on TV that we made a stop at The Buffet while we were in Vegas. First off, I'm not too big on buffets anymore because I don't have a huge appetite anymore and I get full easily (I'm a tiny person), so I was put off by the $40 price for dinner. What caught my eye from the Travel Channel's show was the seafood and sushi part of The Buffet. I LOVE SEAFOOD, so the first things I put on my plate were the smoked salmon sashimi, hamachi sushi, and ahi and salmon Hawaii-style poke. I wasn't impressed by any of the fish, especially the poke. It was WAY too spicy and didn't taste anything like the authentic Hawaiian poke I know. The rest of the food was just okay. I was really impressed by how the desserts looked, though I'm not too much of a sweet-tooth anymore. I probably won't be eating here again because I don't think it's worth the $40, but at least I can say that I've eaten here. I actually liked the seafood more at Makino at the outlets.

I think this is one of the best buffets I've eaten at in Vegas! The boyfriend and I absolutely LOVE sushi, so we were happy to find this place at the outlets. There's a good selection of different rolls, and the sushi and crab legs... Yummy! The price is the best part. We ate here for lunch, and it cost about $15 each; that's about the cost of one roll at most other sushi restaurants.

Noodle Palace

My boyfriend's best friend lives in the area, so the last time we were in town, he took us here for our "last supper". Those two kept going on and on about cake noodles the whole weekend we were there, and I had no idea what they were. It's basically crispy fried noodles with gravy and at this restaurant, it was topped with chicken. Apparently, cake noodles are really popular back in Hawaii. I'm surprised neither of them mentioned cake noodles during our last 4 visits to the islands! Anyway,  I actually like my fried noodles crispy, so my first bite of cake noodles got me hooked! It was so delicious, I'm bummed that there aren't any places like this in L.A. (or maybe I just haven't found one yet). This restaurant serves mainly Chinese food. I can't remember the rest of the food we had ordered that night, but it was all good.

Loehmann's

I signed up for the Loehmann's insider program on-line, and hadn't stepped foot inside the store until leap day (Feb. 29), since it was the last day I could use the coupon I got in the mail for joining the program.

The store was a lot bigger than I expected (I even remember when it was the Virigin Megastore). It was easy to tell they had a large selection of things, but I really didn't feel like spending a lot of time looking through clothes, so I ended up spending most of the little time I spent shopping for shoes and a purse.

I just don't have the patience anymore to go through racks and racks of clothing unless I know exactly what I'm looking for or if I'm shopping for a special occassion which calls for a specific type of attire. Otherwise, I'd probably just come back for the bags and shoes.

Sushi Hirosuke

The boyfriend and I have enlisted Sushi Hirosuke as one of our frequent sushi spots. We ended up coming here one night after working out (the gym is right down the street) based on a recommendation from some people we met at our other frequent spot. We were pleasantly surprised to find one of our long lost favorite sushi chefs. He used to work at a sushi place we used to eat at quite often, and he told us the story about why he quit. He would give us plentiful servings and would still feed us even when we'd go over the "all-you-can-eat-in-one-hour" limit, which that restaurant was pretty strict on. My boyfriend liked him so much, he would tip him generously (and he's pretty hard to impress =P). According to him, the restaurant owners would make the chefs stop serving all-you-can-eat customers WAY before their hour was up. Anyway...

Back to the main reason why I'm Yelping...

Before we even got our food, we already had a good feeling about what was to come. Our first visit, we actually had another chef, but our guy assured us that we'd be taken care of. We didn't eat much the first visit, but we actually came back the next day and brought our friends. We ended up waiting for a while because we wanted "our" chef and our party of five wanted to sit at the bar. The place was pretty packed, but we didn't mind the wait (despite how hungry we all were). To sum it all up, the food was delicious (we were told that they have fresh fish come in daily). I especially like their spicy tuna biscuit, BSC, and tempura ice cream. The staff and chefs were great. We'll definitely be back for more.

I work right down the street from this place, so one day, I decided to stop by. I was looking for one thing in particular, but upon entering the store, there was just so much more I wanted to scope out. Unfortunately, I was on my lunch break, so my time was limited, but since it's close by, I'll have to make another visit so I can check out everything they have to offer...

I came here for a screening of Cloverfield (before opening day, thanks to my good friend at Paramount). I think the last time I was here was probably around 18 years ago. Needless to say, I barely remember anything about the place, but I was still pleasantly surprised. The first thing I notice about a movie theater is how clean it is, and this place is squeaky clean. The lobby of the theater doesn't even make you feel like you're at a movie theater. The gift shop there has lots of interesting stuff (my boyfriend was especially entertained by the deck of cards that has translations of profanity in different languages). The theater we were in was nice and big, and the chairs were very comfy. I wouldn't mind coming here agan (even if it's sort of out of the way).

The boyfriend and I had dinner here at a spur-of-the-moment kinda thing. I remember a friend telling me about this place, so we looked it up on the Garmin, and it led us right to it. Right when we stepped into the restaurant, we noticed the delicious aroma of garlic in the air. I ordered the smoked salmon ravioli and he ordered the prime rib, both of which were really good. Some of the waiters kept passing by our table with sizzling platters, and just a whiff of those dishes was enticing enough to make me want to eat more, but my stomach was too full to agree with my nose. Maybe next time we'll try out their seafood. Since we don't come out to L.A. too often, we always have trouble with parking (we hate carrying around cash!). Our waitress, Agnes, was kind enough to help us out with parking (she gave us cash, and we over tipped her). Next time, we'll remember to bring at least $3.50 for parking, and a bigger appetite.
