The place is very small, yet inviting and friendly. Most importantly they have amazing fudge and Italian Gelato. I have their site bookmarked and look forward to ordering from them. The store also makes a nice stop if you are up in the Kennebunkport area.

The salad was ok. The balsamic dressing lacked enough salt to bring out the flavor. I don't know if it was nerves or strict portion control, but the people behind the counter seemed to be a bit too precise on portions for my liking, but hey, it's a business so I guess that's how it goes.
I'll try it out a few more times to see how things progress over time given that I work right next to the Galleria.

Small Plates Restaurant

Neighborhood: Harvard Square
The food as always was great, the service was really friendly, and the experience was a lot of fun. The tables are spread out enough for privacy but close enough to provide a fun and lively atmosphere.
Small plates is a great summer lunch-time and dinner retreat with friends and family...if you can get a table. Be sure to call ahead and make reservations. The word is out.

I just ate at Small Plates yesterday with my parents. I've been here many times and I am always impressed and often pleasantly surprised.
As you walk in you'll immediately notice that they place feels comfortable. You won't find a stuffy, over decorated pretentious restaurant. Instead you'll find a wonderfully designed and decorated interior with magnificently painted walls, warm lighting and perfect music. This is your home away from home. You'll be greeted by a friendly member of the wait staff who will take you to your seat and if you are truly lucky, you will meet Chef Jerome Picca who will greet you warmly and tell you a bit about the place, his experience and about where he gets his inspiration from.
When you look at your menu, you will be presented with a challenge that is ideal for any dining experience. You'll find it tough to decide what to get and what you will have to get when you return the next time and the time after that. You can get many items to share as well as many that are either for sharing or are to be eaten as an entree. The choices are numerous and creative and all are so delicious. There is certainly something for everyone.
After you have decided what to eat you will also enjoy pairing your meal with any number of great wine or beer choices. A refreshing sangria or cup of freshly brewed coffee are also excellent choices.
Don't forget to leave room for dessert. You will be glad that you did.
This is a great place to visit during the warmer months when the outside patio is open. It's a great place for groups as well. I've come here with family, friends and co-workers all of whom have thoroughly enjoyed their experiences.
You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but if you can't decide what to get I highly recommend the mini burgers, grilled lamb, jerk chicken, crab cakes and sangria. Oh and if you go, invite me along. I can't wait to go back.

We walked right in after 6 and were greeted by the staff with a warm reception. We exchanged conversation in Spanish at times and the food was great, just as I had remembered. I look forward to going back to this friendly neighborhood spot with outdoor seating.

Being half Latin gives me a certain perspective when evaluating Latin restaurants. I don't consider the Taco Bell's and other fast food establishments real food so they aren't even part of the equation.
This place is the real deal. I enjoy many of the foods from home prepared the way I remember and still enjoy them. The service is friendly and attentive most of the time, although they get packed, really packed.
The wait can be long, almost too long but is worth it. If only they were only open for longer hours.
This is still one of the most popular places in Boston for after work drinks, but somehow brunch still remains a lesser known secret.

I live around the corner from this place. It's amazing that it has been open for about a year now and the lines are still crazy!
I've eaten here several times with family and friends and also have stopped by for drinks. It has a warm and cozy feel to it and once you finally get a seat the service is good.
The have one of the best brunches that I have had in the city. The tapas are great as well, but perhaps a bit too gourmet and thus expensive.
I go here often and recommend it.

I miss their sliders, but their fries are always a hit. It's a great place to go after work or before going out in the city and is rarely packed so you can get a decent seat and order right away.
