I love this place. I guess it's connected to Sol Azteca.
I tend to always order a tamale at a Mexican restaurant because it seems like they're something that's difficult to get right. Dos Reales has delicious tamales. In the throes of morning sickness I happily ate their carne asada tacos one night. They're simple - loaded with meat and sprinkled with a hefty load of fresh cilantro on corn tortillas. They brought me some fresh lime slices to squeeze over the top and they were fantastic.
White cheese dip is delicious - plain and cheesy.
Fajitas are different than any I've ordered before. Everything's very caramelized - a huge pile of meat loaded with peppers and onions. More than enough to share with another.
There's a particular plate I enjoy which is enormous and weird. I can't remember the name of it but it's a plate of "nachos." It has ground beef on one side, chicken on the other. Lots of cheese, guacamole, sour cream, etc but buried in the middle is a tamale. Yum - but way too big for a single meal and not so good leftover. Delicious rice but a bit on the salty side.

The atmosphere is nice - too nice in my opinion. I'd like a bit more grit when I'm eating Thai food. The satay here is really great and we love the crab rangoon'ish things. Crab rangoon being nearly as American as a cheeseburger it seems. I just happen to really like the thin thin crispy wrappers they use and the sweet chili sauce they serve them with.
The portions are enormous and we always end up with leftovers. I ordered a thai beef salad here (something similar to waterfall beef) and was sorely disappointed. I love it with a sour and salty dressing with lots of lime and fish sauce and mint and cilantro. This one was dry, the beef a little tough.
The tiny dish of cucumber salad that comes alongside some appetizers is delicious. It has a sweet and tangy vinegar dressing that I could just drink.
My roommate enjoyed the seafood fried rice and it was indeed loaded with seafood. He liked the scallops tucked in there.
If I'm eating something really spicy I love a cool, creamy, sweet Thai iced tea to cool things off but know ahead it's really sweet.
Lots of somewhat "upper class" white people here doing their best to be adventurous. Ha! You might even encounter the occasional awkward first date taking place next to your table.
And speaking of tables - this particular location basically has three rows of seating. Booths line the walls and between sits a row of tables. I prefer a booth because the tables down the center make one seem like they're sitting alone in the middle of the room.
