Okay, so it's been a while since Monica and I went, and I've now had, it seems, sufficient time to ruminate on the experience. Conclusion: the effect that freshness has on quality cannot be overstated, and our delicious little balls seemed pretty freaking fresh. No nonsense going on here: a manageable menu full of tasty, unassuming things, provided quickly and at a good price.

Surprisingly pleasant, not overwrought burger joint. Not spectacular, but solid. I'm not certain, but I think you may not have a better place to go for burgers in Menlo Park (though someone please correct me if I'm wrong).

Well, I don't come for the food. I come for coffee happy hour (4-6pm, half-price caffeine) and proper happy hour (5-7pm, $2? beer), and a surprisingly good soundtrack (Neutral Milk Hotel? Not something I expect to hear in a cafe, particularly in the wasteland near the mall). My experiences with the employees have always been unanticipatedly pleasant--noteworthily so--and that counts for a lot.

It was a cute nook. What a weird place for it! I found comfort in knowing that there were cupcakes looming overhead if I needed an escape from ground-level Market Street. I don't need Citizen Cupcake specifically, but I hope them or someone else finds another off-the-main-path nook to fill with a cafe.
I smashed a fingernail. Kyle put a couple weeks of scrapes on his hands. I took a spill and met some dirt. Before going down the slides you pick up a fast-looking piece of cardboard from the ground, or, if you're an expert or stupid, bring your own and cover it in wax paper. Someone had brought a lamp to the park and just left it. These are reasons why these slides are awesome.

Christ, the burger weighed a pound. 1 pound. Noah and Shahin had the breakfast special--pancakes, eggs, hash browns, bacon--which was significant--a good meal--but not nearly so epic as that giant burger.

It's lucky to exist on such a cute block, and seemingly be the most affordable, least thought-intensive food on said block. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm partial to South Park rather than anywhere on South Park.
It's a nice looking business and I ate there on a nice day and had a perfectly adequate burrito, so I wasn't particularly annoyed when I felt forgotten for minutes while an employee was apparently waiting for my cheese to melt or something?.

I've had some disappointing buffet Indian food, but this wasn't any of it. Good value for the money.
The staff was almost too eager to accommodate us shuffling to increasingly larger tables as more of our crew came in.
My main disappointment was that I realized that I had no idea how to eat most of it. It's one thing if it's just me or me and some fellow Philistines cramming food in our food holes, but when eating with people actually from India it's another thing entirely. Must do some research and visit more buffets, for practice.
