I had an early slightly negative review but after year of dealing with their price changes- and finally finding my favorite schwerma on the menu- I'm boosting this up to my top rating. It's a great cafe in the north side of North Beach for some middle eastern food, watching soccer (international feeling here) and getting some wi-fi work done. The owner's a sweetie, and the overall vibe is great. Near Lombard & cable car too. Supposedly their brunches are good- I have to try it! It's a great spot to sit outside and enjoy a Hefeweisen, and the tourists make the scenery interesting.

- I bought polyester by mistake, and you'd think the cutter would remind me that I was buying the worst fabric in the world. How do you buy polyester by mistake? You have bad finger-sensing, and you don't read the sticker on the bolt, and you really *want* it to be a cotton for only $1.50/yd.
- The selection is kidn of random, not exhaustive, and it's definitely a bargain basement kind of store, so that's not quite a 5-star action.
Still, I got this on a tip from a friend and I'm really thankful as my costume was $50 instead of the $200 it would have been if I'd shopped at Britex!
Helpful staff- which is a requirement really at all craft places (except Joanne's, which has the most unqualified people in the world!)

I can't believe I walked by this place for two years and never went in. I stopped by last night on the way back from Film Yard - another great local institution- and participated in the last round sof trivia. YES I know how to conjugate a French verb! Other than that, failed abysmally. So just want to give a shout out to a nice cafe. A local joint without the attitude that many local North Beach cafes get. On the food front, I'm impressed with the quality of ingredients. Acme bread, good cheese (which to me makes the fondu), and the french onion soup is super yummy. Not a huge menu, but I don't think that's an issue.

Great women's bike store vendor. So that's an odd niche, but I appreciate it. I had some really dumb questions on stuff I'd been struggling with for a while, and Dallas was really friendly and chatty. He also set me up for doing it myself in the future. He's a nice guy and willing to help you- even if he doesn't make a sale. It's really refreshing. I love the location too- seems like the Mission has all the cool bike resources, so finally we've got one here! I don't have to trek to Lombardi or Sportsbasement for my gear anymore! Really fun vintage bikes, and he's not snooty about whether your'e a bike messenger, or just a commuter, or even an weekend warrior.

I don't really understand the negative reviews, but I don't care, as I like it not so crowded, and debated posting this at all. If you're visiting- go to Puccini and Greco. If you're interested in a great local haunt, patronize this place. Spaghetti omelet & ravioli are excellent!
