Blech, ordered lunch from these guys on Seamless for the first time. I had my appetizer substituted for a beverage and my sandwich was poorly assembled and kinda greasy.

I end up going to Le Poisson Rouge frequently on weekends. V-Bar is my chosen spot to avoid the misery of bars filled with solely NYU-undergrad and have a nice conversation with a friend before a show. The beer selection isn't amazing; I usually just stick with the wine.

I have long lamented the lack of a good bagel place near the Lorimer L stop and was happy  to find that oft-closed Crest Cafe has been replaced by an inexpensive bagel / coffee juice bar combo. The special bagels (usually some combination of avocado, misc. veggies and cream cheese) are a steal, but the juice bar is a little pricier than I'd love. On my first two visits I found the coffee a bit lacking, but the cozy narrow cafe was a great placed to read a book for an hour.

I am writing this review to remind myself never to order delivery from Burritoville again. Everything at Burritoville when subjected to delivery becomes soggy tasteless crap, except the burritos.

The burritos deserve four stars, but everything else at B'ville is overpriced, undersized, poorly prepared garbage. As far as the California NYC-burrito haters, perhaps you ought to try leaving Manhattan and eating Mexican at someplace as scary and remote as Bedford Ave! (To be fair, NYC has worse produce than California, especially in winter, but Burritoville is mainly awful for other reasons.)

In summary, if you must eat at Burrito*VILE* stick to just a burrito.

Taco Santana

I'd always thought Taco Santana was merely a competent contender in the realm of "authentic tacos not made by hipsters" circuit. However, I had the house taco (al pastor) -- "Taco Santana" and was blown away by the delicious spices on the vegetables. I believe they were grilled fajita style and included pineapple. The generous potion sizes and low prices have made this my default "authentic" Mexican delivery place. Good stuff.

I've always been one to mock the lame bridge and tunnel crowd that smoke lamely on the sidewalk here and double park their SUVs, but I would sneak in for lunch occasionally.

However, I had dinner here last night and my dining companion discovered & killed a rather large roach on our table. The waiter tried to appease us with dessert but we had lost our appetites. We were only offered free drinks (which we refused) and 50% off the meal. What cheap bastards.

Yuck, the food here is always too greasy and never spectacular for the inflated prices. My last straw came on my last order where my Cheese Poori was 100% seriously made with Kraft Singles as the cheese. AWFUL. If you just get some chicken vindaloo or whatever, it is passable, but I will never order delivery from here again :(

The mixed drinks are really, really weak but if you're feeling like escaping a crowded bar in the middle of a night out with friends, doing a few rounds of crappy $1 Jello shots may reinvigorate your night. Good for groups.

If you want cheap tacos late, go to San Loco, you cheap, stuck-up, chuckleheads.

Now, I could see why there might be varying quality, but as I only go on saturday afternoons or after work, the food was fresh and very appealing every time. There was some green sauced chicken that I enjoyed a lot, but the steak tacos are so good that Snackdragon is one of the few places where I'll dare try red meat in a taco.

The food and drinks are overpriced for what they are and you'll be rubbing elbows with some yuppie who decided it would be a great idea to bring their hellspawned bastard child to a hole in the wall restaurant. However...

TAKE OUT MARGARITAS!!!!

I haven't had this much fun violating open container laws in lower-Manhattan since my 21st birthday.
