The outdoor seating is fun - but we opted ti sit indoors in the a/c.
Service by Sarah our server was great and friendly.
If we are in Medford lakes again we would return for lunch - but I bet dinner and happy hour are crowded and noisy. Lunch is nice & quiet.
Please save the remaining farms (and not all are vineyards) - try One Woman Farm or the many Goat farms with great products. Such good local produce here.
Long live the East End (North Fork)!
The Summer Blush is an easy-drinking crowd pleaser. What a great way to spend a lazy North Fork summer afternoon; tasting wines and strolling around Pindar.
Love it.

The Market

Bottled water, soaps & cosmetics, vitamins & supplements - I just LOVE the market.
Oh - and the ladies who run the counter and cashiers are so nice, too.
Grab a brew and get refreshed.

American Yogini aka Hohm - Juice Fasting Retreats
Categories: Beauty and Spas, Nutritionists, Juice Bars & Smoothies
I first became aware of Mary McGuire-Wien's North Fork creation about 2 years ago. I finally went for my first juice-fast cleanse & yoga retreat in June 2008 about 3 weeks after my wedding. I stayed for 4 heavenly days that were life changing.
I went again last week for 4 days again (they recommend 7 and I wish I could afford to stay longer - it's so great.)
Oh - and I had 2 massages with Peter this time - heaven on the massage table. (Last time I had 1 massage with Peter and 1 with Melinda - and a decent but not earth shattering facial with a nice Irish lady). Peter is a primo therapist and a gifted healer. Alot of folks come here to heal from inujries ( a man from Oregon was recovering from knee surgery while I was there.)
They have a sparkling, chemical-free pool and are walking distance from a gorgeous beach.
You can take the LIRR to Mattituck or the Hampton Jitney and they will pick you up at the station/bus stop.
All the juices, broths, teas & break-fast meals (salads, veggies & fruits) are local or organic and many are grown right at Hohm!
You've just got to check out the website and ask questions and try it for yourself.

Manero's Steak House

I guess the owner/name change has diminished the quality.
Back in the day you could get a delicious and HUGE aged steak here. And yes, it's an old-school crowd.
Over the last few years our famiy has migrated from the On Parade Diner to the Celebrity - usually for breakfast./brunch or lunch. It's a classic Lawn-Guy-Land style Diner with Matza-Brei at Passover and Bagel-all-the-way the rest of the year. (N.B. The $16.95 bagel all the way easily feeds 2 people order it to split. The lox is tasty and not too salty!)
The food and service are solid, and while it can get crowded they are well versed in crowd control.
You can get anything you want from the extensive menu. And they have great pastries.
Yum. I love diners.

You can get anything you want from the expansive diner-slash-telephone book menu. And they have great butter cookies.
Yum.

we spend a little more when we come - not so much due to pricing (the prices are competitive for most items) but because we splurge on all sorts of specialty foods and unique items we just can't get at Is-It-Fresh (Superfresh) or Ack-A-Mee.
Go to Wegman's - but don't go if you're hungry and bring your shopping list so you don't impulse buy!
