When I think of a yogurt place, I think of many flavors, many toppings, a warm environment.
Come here once to try what a healthy, good yogurt is... and then go to Whole Foods to buy yourself lots of specialties, b/c my regular-sized whole milk with rolled oats, 2 toppings plus maple syrup cost me $6.50. Whoa.
This place has potential. Sir/madam Owner, if you're thinking about improving:
- choices, choices, choices: give me toppings I've never imagined (how about fig?.. I do love fig. Or cocoa nibs? And how about lavender- or jasmine-infused yogurt? SO MANY POSSIBILITIES!). And my willingness to pay the $6.50 will increase, too!
- make this place warmer in ambiance.. like more soft areas to absorb the sound currently bouncing off the walls
- I smelled clorox stepping in...

Food is simple, as you would expect it. The filet mignon is good, with broccoli and mashed potatoes on the side. The dip duo is rich with guac and cheddar dips--good with a drink. The caesar salad has cornbread croutons.
Their featured roasted chicken is weak -- dry and salty... :(
Drinks--it's the simple stuff as well. No fancy mixed drinks, though, I wish they did have those. Service is generally good, but the bartenders could get moody, especially if you eat the bar.
An older crowd, too, but not too stuffy.
Expect to spend about $100 including a few drinks.

People are nice, portions are big, and the food is delish.
Their huevos racheros is awesome, topped with two eggs sunny side up and all sorts of goodies underneath. The waffles are good, too, and as is the free coffee if we wait for a table. This place reminds my bf of Stacks.
Always ready for a stuffing when I come--not a place for the weak!
We also ordered a glass of the white peach sangria (good... but why canned peaches?), the goat cheese appetizer, and a side of asparagus (lemony--yum!).
Ambiance is quite clubby--think I heard all the latest remixes in one sitting!

My bf said this on our second or third visit and it's true. We're a fan of their chinese chicken salad.. so yummy. I really like this place for a number of reasons. I like the food, I like the ambiance (harkens a bit to Google cafeterias, as well as the gastronomy style.. but with Palo Alto chic), and I like the bar area where you can see the chefs preparing.
Oh, and their cola with AGAVE is a totally delicious. Beats any fountain soda!
A bit surprised they have to-go boxes.. Chef Ayers if you're reading this, I hope you're laughing :)
The salads are great, both custom and menu item listings. Their ahi tuna option is fab--a bit spicy too. The kaiware sprouts are refreshing. I'm also a fan of their creamy basil dressing.
The Sailor (salmon, corn, onions, mangos, etc) is a win, as is their Tuna Nicoise (with ahi tuna!).
The soup I tried, the butternut squash, was disappointing, and wait for the food could get pretty long, too.
My bf and I booked this place for a Tuesday night dinner, our last night in Mendo. It was bustling, with lots of happy people and a cozy ambiance.
We got the American Kobe steak, their award-winning crab cakes, the pan-roasted quail, and a small bottle of Duckhorn merlot. The steak was perfect, and the crab cakes had a mix of lemon, cream, and crab flavors, which blended perfectly. Foodies in paradise...
For dessert, we got the cheese tray (with mimolette!), and the classic creme brulee. Oh boy... :)
Our waitress was great, always confirmed our orders with approval, and patient to explain this or that.
Beaujolais is a highlight when I come to Mendo. I'll be back, no doubt!

I am very impressed with this place. Beaujolais is the kind of experience I was imagining on my long weekend in Mendo. My bf and I checked out the menu outside the house on our first day there and immediately liked it.
Upon walking in that night, we smelled truffles--a plus already :) For starters we got the soup of the day (a creamy nettle soup with crab -- really nice) and the spinach salad with niman ranch bacon. the bacon was cut thick and it was crisp and soft to the bite... yum (we were inspired to find that bacon the following week but had no luck). Main courses were equally pleasing. The sturgeon with tagliatelle was a showstopper.. the truffle sauce was amazing... and the special of the night, the filet mignon, was pretty dangerous, too. And we got a huckleberry crisp to close the show.
Really wonderful experience.. I recommend anyone going to Mendo to check this place out.

Dinner was pretty good. My bf had the roasted chicken, which was cooked to perfection. The spring veggie mix on the side was fab (with bok choy and pearl onions -- a pleasant surprise). I had their soup that night, cream of nettle with pesto, and the seasonal lettuce salad. Light but filling fare for all the eating I've been doing in Mendo!
I also really like the bar and the fireplace next to the dining area. We chilled there after our meal.
Only minus was the service, at least for 50% of my party. She hardly paid attention to me, thinking my bf was probably paying. Ha!

If you're looking for a sit-down lunch in Mendo, this is a good place. They also have an outdoor patio which is pretty sweet.
The service is okay; we had a waiter who talked and served too fast so it was a bit difficult to order.
Overall, pretty chill place and good to check out.
He's wonderful -- his haircuts are all scissors and no shears, and he has great intuition about what you want.
He's really busy on the weekends and I waited about 25 minutes, even with an appointment -- but it's worth it, and like the other Yelpers said, grab some pearl milk tea next door while you wait.
Below is my earlier review when this shop was under the previous owner... my religious convictions still hold!
~~
I have religious convictions about Henry Li, who's been cutting my hair for over three years. He's incredible. He spends about an hour on my hair and I seriously come out a better person. He just knows what you want. Incredible attention to detail, ALL scissors (none of that shearing horror), and really friendly guy. I've recommended my friends and they've raved about him.
He relocated once a few years back and I had some serious issues trying to find a better hairstylist (not to mention trying to recoup from bad haircuts). Thank goodness I found him again!
Make sure to call in advance b/c he's usually pretty busy. Oh, one thing though, he doesn't speak English too well.. but that hasn't stopped any of my non-Chinese speaking friends from going and getting fabulous cuts.
Other than Henry, Focus Beauty is your typical Asian hair-salon-in-a-strip-mall with oddly dressed hairstylists.

Their new pomegranate is pretty good as well.
The regular yogurt? Skip that (my old review).
And btw, they also have a secret--their chocolate chip cookies are amazing.
