We had a perfect date experience here the other night. It's usually too crowded to go, and they were not that night, so we ventured in.

We were both completely wowed by the perfectly cooked and seasoned food. Every last bite of it. We had ribs appetizer, the soup with the fat slabs of pork, and the salmon curry.

The place eventually filled up and it was all around truly date-a-riffic. Not a good place for more than 4 people in your party, though. Try the cucumber soda. Yeah, it seems a little pricey, but I made 2 more meals out of the leftovers. Can't wait to go back.

Berkeley Bowl SUPERSTORE.

Same products, giant aisles, lots of parking, and more of each item on display. There's a large bulk peanut butter and honey section. Weird and great! They bagged my stuff in a green reusable.

Screw the haters.

You are paying for the view. The food is clearly all over the map for all kinds of palates. We had perfectly acceptable touristy soup and turkey bacon sammies with a 1/2 bottle of champagne on a perfectly sunny day out on the deck. The berry pie was also good. I was not allowed to see the bill. Service was fine (it was not crowded).

I wonder if things changed here due to bad reviews? I had great service with a smile, and pleasant conversation and they called when I forgot to pick up.

Dry cleaning is generally expensive, more so in other countries.

Amazing 30,000 sq ft gallery in downtown Newark, a 10 minute hike from Penn Station. Rupert Ravens, who I have known since we were art school nerds, is tireless in his mission to relocate the center of the East Coast Art World to Newark, NJ. On a recent visit, I saw excellent art and cutting edge installations. Lots of them! The gallery hosts lectures and gala openings. A lovely gallery assistant poured me a delicious German beer from the totally pro set up.

Take the whole family, and when you've sated your art needs for the moment, head out for some local chow- there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance in the nearby historic Ironbound District.

6 adults and 1 toddler- we had a fantastic meal here while breezing thru town on an Art mission. The Dry Soup is ridiculous: tons of seafood in a broth that they toss a bunch of bread chunks into, which then soaks up all the juice. It turns into this amazingly weird and perfectly seasoned pan of exoticness from some bizarre seafood culture. The cockles are delicate and plentiful, the crab legs were giant, the sea bass tender as a mother's love. Decent white wine at about $22/bottle, so you can afford a few to wash it all down. The place gets crowded and rowdy and I can't wait to go there again!

Extra star for airport food. Sweetie B thinks that's the upside of all the post-9/11 security measures. You are forced to spend more time at the airport, and vendors have risen to the occasion with better places to choose from. That said (it makes sense to me) we had a great airport meal here while waiting for a flight. Fried clams, Cesar salad, fish and chips...glasses of wine...all real good!

I can easily see where the meal could go awry, but we had a completely fantastic time. All the food was amazing, the seating was perfect, the service left nothing to be desired.

Considering the fact that we flew 3,000 miles to host a surprise birthday dinner here at 5:30 on a Friday eve, I'd say we got very lucky and they were on their best behavior. Awesome cocktail menu- try the Lavendar Twist(?) some drink name with Lavendar- amazingly great. They have a cyber hot poker to make certain hot drinks- very cool.

It can be tricky to find a nice place for lunch in NY. in the late afternoon, so I'd say the hours here are great.

One star off for insufferable hipster hostess, but otherwise, a rowdy and delicious upscale cafe with a menu tending toward the adventurous. I loved the pork buns (after I pulled off the slabs of fat), though my vegetarian friend found next to nothing that looked appetizing. We went with the pickled veggies, which did not impress her, though I thought they were freakin amazing.

We licked our plates when no one was looking.

Fancy named dishes- not sure if they change the menu, but we had the tubes with Bolognese sauce, the Bucatini with pancetta, side of spinach (has pine nuts, garlic and raisins omg) 2 glasses of wine, and 2 desserts: the Easter bread and raspberry tart. Huge wine by the bottle list.

This place is the closest to a trattoria in Italy that I have experienced in the US.
