I finally checked this place out and it was pretty good! I had something with wide rice noodles, as usual, and enjoyed the way they cooked it. The service was excellent.
My only complaint is about the bubble tea. I was sooo excited since bubble tea is hard to find in this area, but it tasted the way I'd imagine a coconut air freshener would taste.

This place is right in the heart of downtown and has very tasty treats!
Apparently there's also a restaurant in the basement, but I haven't checked that out yet.

After hearing so many people rant and rave about this place, I expected to be blown away. But really it's just a normal (albeit cool) coffee shop.
It's hidden away in the basement of a building on U of C's campus, but so many people know about it, the place is often packed. They have a lot of drinks and some food too, so worth visiting if you work or go to school on campus or nearby.

This is a super fun park just south of Elgin's downtown. There is a wide open field that is home to many festivals during the summer months. The kids part is fun for adults too. :) The water is a good way to cool off in the summer time.
A fun place to pick up a pumpkin in the fall. I've also bought corn there, & they have squash and homemade jellies too.

I loved it here!
It was so much fun to walk around and look at stuff. Lots of people, many of them tourists, but fun all the same.
The flowers are beautiful and ridiculously cheap. Still kicking myself for not buying any.

Why is this place great? Because it's open late. When you're drunk. And the food is delicious.
It's not a "real" Mexican place, but it's good, & I don't care what anyone else has to say about it!
It's fast & tasty & filling & I'd pick it over the neighboring fast food places any day!
With Chipotle there aren't many choices, and you always know what you're gonna get. There are also good vegetarian options.

As someone who doesn't eat meat, I found this Portillo's very sad. I've been to other Portillo's(es?) and they all had two restaurants inside--the burger & hot dog place and then some healthy line. This one only has the burger & hot dog line.
I ordered the tastiest-sounding vegetarian item on the menu (a salad) and got cheese fries on the side. If I hadn't be very very very hungry, I probably would've trashed em.

This place is very similar to sushi station, but I prefer Sushi Station just a bit over Jurin because they have more options floating around in the conveyor belt.
