Nothing but love for cafe habana (guava margaritas, baby are you for real?? mmm)... and this is even though the first time I ate here the whole place reeked of cheese or crap, I couldn't tell which.

And it didn't even matter.

Somewhere in the hinterland between dive and douchey sits 500 Club - a sometimes-respite from Valencia St bar madness. Last time I was there, I was treated t a pretty solid extra dirty martini and bland but refreshingly un-pervy convo with a dude who works at the EPA.... No real complaints here.

You're in for not one but two disappointments here: this place is neither sweet *nor* vicious. Unjustifiably pricey, overcrowded, soulless,and small - yet so effing hard to resist (probz due to its nexus-of-Soho location).
