My Blog Or Website My Second Favorite WebsiteI also recommend the pistachio baklava, if they have it - it's usually the first one to sell out.
And if you're looking to see what Edmund was on about, sample the rose flavor turkish delight, not the artificially-flavored brightly-colored stuff.
Semra (the Turkish woman who runs the joint) is very friendly. If it's not too busy, chat with her a little... she knows me by name, and she usually slips me some free dessert. :)
For a cute little women's clothing boutique downtown, the prices were awesome. $5 for a nice cami, $30 for a party dress, etc. They were having a pre-Xmas sale, so normal prices might be higher, but (clearly) I was impressed.
I tried some things on for fun, and found the dressing room to be large and comfortable. I plan to return to check it out more thoroughly in the future!

Tip: when buying tickets online, you can request to be seated in a certain part of the venue (close to the stage, on the right, next to my friend Bob who bought his ticket separately, etc) and they will try to accomodate you. :)

One of my favorites is the Dinner for Henry pizza (roasted summer squash and goat cheese)! If you're feeling less adventurous, go with the Safe 'n Sound, their delicious spin on the classic margherita pizza. They also have some of the best Italian sodas I've found outside of Italy. Try almond!
Top it off with one of their brownies topped with organic mint chocolate chip ice cream... mmm!
I love the servers here - it's the kind of place where if it's not too busy, the server will pull up a chair and sit with you at your table to shoot the shit for a while before he asks for your order.
Good for kids: at lunch, yes, at dinner, not so much. Same goes for groups. There's a bit of outdoor seating in the summer. There's waiter service at dinner but you just order at the counter at lunch.
Also, I don't know what the no votes on credit cards are about - I've definitely used one at dinner there multiple times. It's possible that they only accept them at dinner.

QFC Quality Food Center
Category: Grocery
Neighborhood: University District
First, the space is ginormous.
Second, they've got a bunch of little "storettes" within the QFC: Bank of America, Noah's Bagels, Seattle's Best Coffee, and maybe a few more.
Third, they've got extras: childcare for shoppers, a flower section, a HUGE wine section, a little sushi takeout stand, and even a freaking OLIVE bar, so you can choose exactly how many of each kind of fancy olive you want to buy.
Fourth, they're open 24/7 (and they're the only thing in U Village that is!)
Their deli has great selection of meats and cheeses, but I've found their prepared dishes in the cold case to be unexciting and not as consistently quality as the ones at PCC.
I also like that they have 4 self-checkout stations - it can really speed up the grocery-fetching process for me.
Not as cheap as Safeway, not as expensive as Metropolitan Market or Whole Foods.

Bartell Drugs
Category: Drugstores
Neighborhood: University District
Recently parking in U Village has been awful, but don't despair - remember that there's a huge free parking garage near the Blakely St entrance, and it ALWAYS has space. Always, as in at 2pm on December 23rd it was only half full.
I prefer Bartell's to the other large drugstore chains in Seattle because I like to support this (admittedly huge) local business.

They're really nice about adjusting your frames to fit really well and comfortably - you can just drop in and they'll fix 'em right there.
Their selection of frames isn't as broad or funky as, say, 4 Your Eyes Only (nearby in Wallingford Center), but they do run much cheaper on the whole. They take Regence BlueShield insurance if you have a vision benefit, and they probably take other insurance too.
Parking: this is Wallingford, so parking along 45th is difficult but if you go a block to the right or left it's all residential and you can usually find a good spot. There's also a small garage under the building on 1st Ave NE, but it only has about 4 spots and 3 of them are really small. I parked at the nextdoor Dick's once and didn't get towed, but it's up to you if you want to chance it.

Pinocchio's Pizza & Subs
Category: Pizza
Neighborhood: Harvard Square
They also have subs, regular pizza, and other food, but the Sicilian pizza is the reason they're so popular. One slice is $2.25, two slices are $3.95.
Always open until midnight, sometimes open until 1 or 2.

Hong Kong At Harvard Square
Categories: Chinese, Bars, Dance Clubs, Comedy Clubs
Neighborhood: Harvard Square
Let's be clear about this: they may have remodeled to look all classy-like, but the Kong is not a place to take a date for dinner. It is a place to take a date for 3am crab rangoon after the party's been broken up by the cops.
There's an art of ordering at the Kong, because some dishes are great while others are so heavy on grease and msg that your body will complain.
Very popular with the late-night crowd, and for good reason: crab rangoon, scallion pancakes, and chicken peking ravioli.
If you're looking for something more substantial: I love the pineapple fried rice (it has chicken and shrimp and curry flavor, and isn't greasy). Others swear by the pork friend rice (I find it too greasy) and the drunken noodles (spicy flat noodes with chicken - good if you're in the right state).
In any case, it's been an important part of the Harvard College experience for decades. If you're up late, it's worth a visit.
Also, they DO deliver. Not sure about the radius. And the restaurant is wheelchair accessible now that the remodel is done.

Date

It was awesome. They DO NOT serve chips and salsa. They DO serve some mean fish tacos, a super tasty enchilada sampler platter, and great guacamole. They have a large seafood menu too!
It's super cheap - 3 of us ate for $21 including tip.
I will definitely be going back... I may even drive to Tacoma just for Vuelve!
