Drink is always full, always get more food than anticipated and it's always delicious.
I've been here for lunch, dinner and late night and it's always been a treat.

Fat Tony's Pizza

This is the way I prefer my pizza and the recent spawn of authentic NY style pies in San Diego has helped fill the gap that I had tried to fill for so many years after moving out here in 1985.
Between Fat Tony, Bronx and Luigis, I can go pretty much in any direction from my house and get the hook up.

Then you'll put butter and syrup on that and feast like you were feasting on god's favorite angel itself.
The coffee ain't too bad either. Not the best, but better than most pancake houses. Trust me. I've been to a lot of pancake houses in my time. And waffle houses. They're almost the same except NONE of the others... waffle or pancake house... offer BACON PANCAKES TOPPED WITH CRUMBLED BACON.
Jesus H Christ. I need this. Now.

Then came one week when we got calls every day saying not to come in, the computers went down. This went on about 3 days. Then we all got calls from Mark, himself, saying the company is insolvent, there is no more work and he can't pay us. We had no recourse to get our money from him except going to the labor board for arbitration. I think I was offered about 10% of what I was owed. I had a new job by then, so I couldn't be bothered with all that nonsense, so whatever.
Normally, you'd feel sorry for someone who tried and couldn't make it, but after this whole insolvency bullshit, him and his lackey, Pete Franks, opened up shop again down the road. Same name, different ownership. That protected him from actually paying his past employees.
And, I see he's still at it. If you want to do your mortgage shit through these con-jobs, go right ahead. Hopefully this will serve as a fair warning.
If they are deceitful to their employees, they can just as easily be deceitful to their clients.
I should note, the other telemarketing crew that worked the time I did sold cheap long distance phone service. Just in case you need to know what kind of businessmen you're dealing with here.
I still have the newspaper clipping about him leaving us high and dry in case anyone thinks I'm bullshitting.
I'd like to give this place a check in the summer months when all the attractions are open.
I'd definitely like to go back for another music festival there.
The views from the estate are fantastic and the breakfast was exquisite. If I'm ever in Minehead again, I will definitely be staying here.
Normally I can't get my Indian food as spicy as I want, which is far above the levels 99% of the world can handle, so this was a pleasant treat. The explosion of flavor followed by a strong, pungent chili blast burn all the way down my esophagus, forming a dense bead of sweat along my brow and an uplifting endorphin rush that kept me going until I got back to the bed and breakfast to pass out.
Great!

I have been to many Submarina's but I shall never set foot in this one again. The owner, and what appears to be his family on the assembly line, are cheapskates who don't appreciate the customers and business they get. They seem to be more concerned about the customer trying to screw them over than they are about being polite and interested in customer service.
Today I cashed in my card to get my free sub and figured I'd add some bacon and a meal deal, you know, so I'd actually spend a little and not look like the cheapskate getting the freebie. Well, turns out that you have to spend $5 to use your credit card, which was not posted anywhere in the entire establishment. The owner graciously gave me the option of buying some more chips and/or chips in order to make my order $5. I explained I don't want to do that and it didn't say anywhere that I needed to spend $5 in order to use my card. He got loud and in my face and said he's not going to absorb the $1 fee for a free sandwich.
Then there was the time the Russian guy in front of me wanted milk with his meal deal (which costs a few pennies more, apparently). Old jackass didn't take a moment to try and understand him and charged him for the regular meal price. When Russian dude grabbed a milk, he was scolded and practically called a thief for trying to pay the soda price and get a milk. As he walked away the owner and son commented on how you just can't trust those sneaky Russians.
Enough. Done with this place. These people don't deserve a lick of business and hopefully you're not going to give them any. They don't even deserve any kind of success in any form. If you hate the people and hate the whole idea of providing services to people in exchange for money, then sell the franchise to someone who cares and go live your miserable existence elsewhere.
And that is that. I'll never go there again and will trumpet this story as loud as I can to anyone who wants to. In their eyes, customer service means wrangling and saving any last penny they can, at your expense.

Cox Communications

Neighborhoods: Little Italy, Downtown
Cox couldn't bother to help me because I was using a Mac. I do this shit for a living and know when the provider is having problems. Nonetheless, they refused to support me. Then they cut off my service on some weird premise that I was violating copyrights (uh, no, I was not). Had to promise to never ever do it again and they turned it back on. That gave me enough time to setup with speakeasy and flush these turds down the toilet.
If it weren't for the Padres baseball on Ch.4, I'd cancel their bullshit TV service and go dish. But, alas, I'm stuck with their dumb cables sticking out of every room in my house.
Subpar on every level from quality of service to support to overall experience.
Sadly, I can't completely tear myself from the nipple.

Similar style of menu with small, reasonably price portions of extremely fresh food. We had the scallops, garlic tofu, vegetable skewers, beef skewer, short rib, beef tongue, yellow tail collar and shrimp rice ball for dessert.
The restaurant is a very unique setting with small booth/rooms for small parties and a bar where you can sit and watch the chefs do their thing.
I was very pleased with the service. It was casually paced, informative and attentive. Plan on making an evening out of it here. And, if you like sake, there's a huge menu to choose from.
Definitely going back and getting a booth to have a night of shabu shabu.
Great dining experience all around.
