But just 10 minutes ago I got my meal - The Woodrow - a panini with salmon and other quality ingredients. When I ordered it, there were 10 people in the shop and five outside. I set up my laptop, gave my dog some water and went back inside to pick up my meal.
ME: "Is this my panini?"
BARISTA: "Well, it's a Woodrow".
OK, (edited here per the GM's request) MR RUDE, I get it. You're too cool and busy with all these people who are already served and drinking coffee to see I'm the only jackass in here in a grey Wilco t-shirt and red Chrome messenger bag.
Being rude is not hip. In fact, it's downright stupid.
PLEASE NOTE (01.14.08 AM) - The GM, Chris C, of Thunderbird emailed me today to ask me to edit this and remove the name I called his barista. Not once did Chris C mention anything about the barista's behavior or offer an apology. In fact, he said:
"You put me in a tough spot here. I'm committed to creating a great experience for each customer that comes into my store, but I think you crossed a line when you called my barista a [name]. Until you either apologize or change your review, I would prefer that you take your business somewhere else."
LAST EDIT (01.14.08 PM):
For those reading, Chris C here on Yelp is actually the Owner - not just the GM. After a few communications about this customer service issue he disclosed that fact. You can decide whether or not his practice of monitoring and lack of full disclosure is deceptive.

This was on "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives", and the reason has to be the latter. I know a lot of Austinities like it because it's open 24 hours and it's a place to hit when you're loaded and all, but this place sucks.

What's more he rides and races, so he has a hands-on approach to his products.
Visit Hammerhead and you'll be happy.
The place is cool. Small. Lots of toys and treats for kids who do well in the seat.
The owner, Stephanie, did a great job getting the kids in and out of the seat. She was calming and good to them.
The haircuts look great, but I have to say that it's a bit overpriced ($22/cut) for what you get. The owner might consider price levels for kids that just need a trim versus a full-on cut.

We stayed in the Provence Room and enjoyed it. Smallest of the rooms (I think), but the sheets are nice and the dresser worked. It was a pain that the bathroom is outside the room, but we knew that going in.
We did have some nits. For the price I'd like a more decent shower head and a sink that drained. And there was construction right outside our room at 7:30am each day. That sucked and I felt that the crew should have been working the afternoon shift.
The espresso was decent and the pastries (from Alliance Bakery) were out of this world.

I went for the breakfast tacos on recommendation and I found them to be good, but not the greatest. Inexpensive. Solid. Good salsa.
I'll be back, likely for tacos. Most certainly for a churro.
Kelly always greats me with a smile, nice quips about the day or my kids (if they are with me) and they always have a milk bone for my Molly dog.
Super friendly service aside, I really enjoy their espresso drinks. Tullys is a well-known brand from the NW and this little drive through does it right.
I'll gladly put my money at Sorrentos before I hit that other S coffee shop across the street.
Prices are super inexpensive, and every 10th cup is free.
The showroom is dark and dreary. Dirty. Smells of smoke - probably because the employees walk around with cigarettes hanging from their lips.
The counter help isn't really helpful - I think they thought I looked like a glass expert like they are supposed to be. I asked questions, got no real help which means I asked more questions and after 10 minutes of this I had my glass picked. No price was given, so I asked. Pretty decent - $34 / door for frosted, $11 for clear. Two days to complete.
When I went back to pick up my doors everything appeared to be great. But after driving 4 blocks to get home, I noticed the glass had come out of two of the doors. I called and got some story about "bad caulk" so I returned the doors.
One day later we're set. I arrive at 8am, get a dismal greeting from teh counter help but enjoy friendly quips with the young guy working in back. He was nice.
I wouldn't recommend this place. Mostly because of service, but partially because of knowledge. The doors should have been right the first time through.
Good luck!

Vanessa is my favorite stylist so far. I'll continue to see her.
The Lone Star is cold and FREE, the hip hop is always playing on the system, and the price is right.
What's more they sponsor a lot of free concerts and shizzah. Great place.

They extended a stone walkway for me and built a french drain in an area that collects copious amounts of rain water. I had him remove sod from a huge new bed that I'm creating and place it in bare areas on the yard. His team was knowledgeable, friendly and quick. I never even saw them take a break.
Prices are spot on and booking only took a couple weeks (it was a bigger job than just mowing the lawn). I would hire them again on the spot and appreciate Jason's sincerity.
Oh, the only flaw was hitting a couple of my sprinkler system heads. The guys went right out, bought new, replaced and tested. Awesome.
