Pretty sure this is the best burrito in the bay area. Vegan black refried beans. Incredible salsa and great vegetarian options.
Giving this 5 starts because of the pizza and dessert combination. The pizza is excellent. They have an array of gourmet styles that are enhanced by an incredible cheese selection.
The desserts (specifically the butterscotch budino) are amazing.

Normally, I would wait and visit twice for 5 stars but the combination of great sandwich and incredibly friendly folks makes this a no brainer.

This is a great little (tiny) place.
Go there if only to try the potato puffs.

I have only been once so this is going out a bit on a limb but this place is fairly unique. They make slices to order (which could be good or could be bad because there are plenty of places in NYC that make great slices to go that are not made to order). It takes about 10 minutes but for $2.50 you get essentially 2 slices of pizza. Excellent crust. Surprisingly good.

As a crypto carnivore (see Coupland, Douglas : Microserfs), it is always fun to find a place that makes a traditional meat dish, veggie.
Jay's makes fantastic veggie (seitan) cheesesteaks in a forms (original, mushroom, bbq, pizza, etc.). Perfectly toasted bread. This place is super solid.
Friendly as well.

I wish there were places like this up in the Bay Area. Very tasty. Holding back a 5th star until after a repeat visit. Excellent vegetarian options. Superb french toast :-)
Tony Tutto is definitely a contender for best pizza in the Bay Area. The owner wanted to make it wood fired (like Picco) but new marin county ordinances prevent wood burning stoves.
Instead, they use the same high end oven as Delfina in SF and focus on the BEST ingredients and a lot of TLC.
