...So an hour + later we got our food, and the check comped by the manager... seems they have some issues in the kitchen and with communication. First they claim they lost our order, and then brought the wrong food - 3rd time was a charm though.
The food is good and the menu is refreshing for a breakfast place. For Scottsdale's sake I hope they get it together.
George is the owner/operator and he is the only guy you deal with.
Keep up the good work!

First off, I don't know a whole lot about carpet cleaning - but it was obvious that George does. He arrived on time, and spent twice as long as any other carpet cleaner I have ever dealt with. The results were amazing - my carpet looked brand new (really). His attention to detail and customer service are worth every penny!
Thanks George!
The food was above average, and the prices are low, but the atmosphere is woefully out of date and dilapidated.
I appreciate the longevity and family-run aspects, but come on guys it's time for a remodel (at least some fresh paint and better lighting). A few booths would be a huge upgrade from the wobbly tables, and I'm also not a huge fan of paper plates...
This would be a better choice for a quick lunch on the cheap, or take out.
The drinks were well poured, good service, interesting crowd, and lots of different seating options... lounge, bar, tables... all very chill.
My new favorite drink is a cherry vodka with diet coke and a cherry...
Also ran into an old friend here last night - how cool is that?
Well worth a visit!
They are 100% honest and reliable guys -- and at a VERY low price to boot... (less than renting a uhaul and providing pizza and beer for several buddies)
I am using them for my move on July 1st.
Call Justin for a quote (you WILL thank me) and mention Yelp for 10% off...
The free photo booth out back was particularly neat. I also appreciated the free drink tickets and the spread looked delicious - alas, I ate on the way over thinking "Martini Ranch doesn't serve food" Duhhhh... it's a Yelp event....
My girl abandoned me around 10pm and went to see a DJ at MYST with her girlfriend (apparently it's a big deal when Paul Van Dyke is in town). At this point me and a few buddies got serious about our over consumption.
Anyway, I went to bed with my clothes on and woke up with them off... did someone slip me a roofie??? I have been more paranoid about this after watching the movie Hangover -- hmmmm, I also have a hangover today... and it is not nearly as hilarious as the movie.
I hear some Yelpers were there until last call! Awesome!

Best little bar / pub in old-town, and I'm not kidding, it is tiny. It's the perfect place to start or end the evening. Comfortable, dark, relaxed, lounge-style atmosphere - Excellent! This is an awesome place to just hang out and chat with some friends (or make new ones).
The new owners (Doug and Joy) are friendly and the crowd is always different / interesting. Note: it gets VERY busy here on the weekends after 9pm!
The two outdoor patios (one upstairs, one downstairs) each have awesome gas fireplaces.
Well drinks are only $3.50! (Yes, in Scottsdale!)

This new place has taken over the hallowed ground of what was my favorite bar in Scottsdale, J Chew. Unfortunately the previous owners decided to sell (heck, they were only 80-years old!)
The new owners have done a great job updating my "home". Doug and his wife are warm and welcoming. The place is already busy (on the weekends) just a week after opening. They even lowered the prices...
If you want a classy, comfy, cozy (tiny), low key place to have a cocktail in old town this is definitely it - highly recommended!
*Hard to find the first time being 1/2 underground (its located just east of Brown on Main St. -- West of the Mondrian and AZ88).
UPDATE - "Brackins" is the proper spelling....
Crowd was pretty interesting, lots of beer tub girls in skimpy outfits... took the bouncer 10min to get my girlfriend's ID out of her wallet for a closer inspection (it was stuck pretty good) he could have let her just go in... she is young, but not 20!
Can't imagine ever going here for anything other than post game drinks... and it's just fine for that.
One of the owners, Ted, was there this Sunday and was extremely helpful. We know nothing about wine, and he took the extra time to make us comfortable and explain which types might work best for our palates. His knowledge is extensive.
We purchased a bottle and are excited to give it a try tonight.
I also picked up a couple "pocket shots"... this is really cool technology and I have not seen it anywhere else in the valley yet.

Yelp Eats!

However this trip to MYST was much different. We had a large group and a private table. Easy to get in, drinks were flowing (though a little pricey), music was good (ATB), and overall I had a really good time.
My only real complaint was the "gang" of dirt bag bouncer/doormen that "greet" you on the way in. They are not good for business... (I do understand bouncers are necessary, just save the attitude for the drunken douches that require you to be there in the first place)
Did I dance? No comment...
