The check out lines are usually short and they even seem to be staffing enough employees to bag my stuff (instead of having to do it myself). The pharmacy has been expanded and they are currently updating some of the paint and signage throughout the perimeter. Check out the newly installed nostalgic Publix photography around the Customer Service desk.

I figured I should practice what I preach and since I have started coming back here I figured I would read my first review and see if there was anything I could/should change.
Obviously I had to be really upset to drive 4-6 miles out of my way to get groceries, especially when I could walk to this store. I started coming back here about 4 months ago and noticed a few things. The most obvious was that the cashier at the self check-out greeted me. That never used to happen as no one seemed to care you were there. Next I noticed that both the bakery and meat department seemed to have more variety with associates working all hours (meaning that even when I went in at 10:30 p.m. both were still full service as they are supposed to be).
When I got in line to check-out I looked up at the wall of manager pictures and realized that the rude Customer Service Manager no longer worked there. I asked the cashier about it and he literally said "Thank God." I guess I looked surprised and he apologized for his reaction, then added that it was really tough to work when she was the manager in charge because she would cut people's shifts, pull cashiers to do odd jobs even when customers were waiting, and he stopped seeing some of the neighborhood regulars that had been shopping there for years (some old white headed Buckhead Betties, I would assume).
It's hard to believe that one person could change the entire feeling of the store, but for me it was true. I didn't give more than 3 stars because parking is a little difficult, their produce section is never very organized, and the deli is staffed with some of the rudest people I've met. Seriously. They hate working there and it's completely obvious to everyone but management, Hopefully that will change now that a house finally fell on the witch.

I am an avid Publix shopper and always choose them over other grocery choices. This location, however has some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. One instance was when I needed something cut in the meat department and I was told no. Even after getting a manager, the person working refused to do it because he had already cleaned the machine. Albeit I was shopping at 10:45 p.m., but the store is open for business until 11:00 p.m. and that should include a meat cutter. I live one block from this store and I choose to go to other locations because of the treatment I consistently receive.

Why did I think that their subs were toasted? Not sure where I got that idea, but it was in my head when I was handed my non-toasted sub and that might have had something to do with my reaction.
Anyway, the staff here is nice and even though parking appeared difficult it was relatively easy. Just not sure it was worth paying $7.55 for a roast beef and turkey sub (sans drink or chips).

At first I wasn't sure if they were open because the place was empty (at 6:45 p.m. on a Tuesday night). Once we stepped inside I immediately smelled the fresh paint and noticed the updated tables and seating.
Our server was very friendly and the food was surprisingly good. I got the lamb kabobs and cleaned the entire plate (except for the pineapple, but I digress). Despite the sign outside their dessert selection was limited, so don't expect much.

I really can't complain too much about the process for filing unemployment. Fortunately, most of it can be done online (after you get beyond the first steps) and once it's granted there is limited hassle. In my case, I was very appreciative to my reviewer last year for listening to my side of the story and I felt like they were protecting my interests over my former employer. When you're unemployed and about to be broke, that's a good feeling.
This time around I was much better prepared (financially and otherwise) when I was laid off, although that wasn't the plan. My advice to anyone who is in a similar situation is to file immediately after being dismissed from your job and BE HONEST with the reviewer. Tell the truth and you'll be rewarded.
So why not a perfect 5-star review? Well... the computers there are really dirty. They should pass out hand sanitizer. Seriously. Also, the wait is insane right now. It took almost 2 hours just to re-open my claim (and they already had most of my information on file from last time) and there were only a few seats left in the waiting area when I went today.

This year I was denied the Elite status that I've enjoyed for the last two years. In that time I've written over 400 reviews, attended parties, promoted their site to business owners, and referred numerous friends. Heck, I even started the Atlanta "Twelpers" group on Twitter LONG (read: months) before Yelp Corporate was even online. I don't get it, but maybe they don't get me.
I've tried my best to be a good Yelp ambassador and I'm sorry for whatever I did to make the powers that be think otherwise.
Bitter? Maybe. Will I get over it? I think I already have. Will I keep Yelping? Yes.

I love Yelp! Seriously. It's tha jam and I love it so much it visit daily... sometimes several times per day. I even got several of my friends to try it out, although not all of them became addicted like I did.
There are sometimes that I don't think Yelp loves me. Don't get me wrong, the parties are always fun and the Elite events always exceed my expectations. I don't feel appreciated when business listings don't get updated after I send the information. Grrrr....
See, it's the small things sometimes that keep places from becoming as great as they can (and from getting a 5-star rating). Yelp is awesome and I can only hope that the clever leadership team will take notes of what its users want and give it to us.
Keep up the good work and thanks for letting me make Yelp my 200th review (pardon me for being a Lauren S. copy-cat). I appreciate you.

The produce section is by far on of the larger ones I've seen in a Publix. That's cool, but I wish the deli were bigger.
Check out seems to take a little longer. I think that can be attributed to the cashiers taking a little extra time to provide good service.
The parking lot is kinda tricky. Take a moment to figure out the traffic flow and things get a lot easier (try exiting behind the store onto the side street to avoid congestion at the traffic light on Peachtree @ Peachtree Battle).

The staff here is professional and very friendly. Some of the cover charges seen excessive, especially since we're in a recession ($15 to see a few local bands play).
Drinks are easy to get and the bartenders all pour very well. Prices are okay ($6.75 for Kettle One drinks) and they even have a cheap drink menu with $4 PBR.
It's a very unique place and a fun place to see live bands perform. If that's not your thing you can stay downstairs and eat dinner or play pool or darts. The choices are endless.
I most love that the music/concert areas are smoke free. WOO HOO!
Overall the office staff was never very nice to me. Cathy was always friendly and helpful, but I can't say the same for the other person (we'll call her "D"). I never met a permanent manager, although I think they finally hired someone to replace the person who left to have a baby.

It's not the worst apartment I've ever seen, but it's definitely one of the oldest I've ever called home.
My company put me up in a corporate apartment here and at first glance the buildings look a little run down. Dirty breezeways and not much landscaping to speak of (I do have a nice pond view, though). The interior of my unit has new carpet, but that's about all of the nice things that I can say. The dishwasher doesn't clean the dishes well and there is an amazingly horrid stench coming from my bathroom (it smells like a small animal crawled up inside the wall and died). It doesn't help that the clothes dryer vents into the bathroom instead of outside. Oh - I like the fireplace (that's something nice).
For what it is, I suppose it's okay. It's not quite my taste, but the neighborhood is nice and I'm sure the rent is pretty reasonable.

This is a really cool looking library and I'm glad they decided not to sell out and allow it to be torn down (and then rebuilt) by the developers putting together The Streets of Buckhead.
There are lots of computers to use and you get two 60 minute sessions per day. Not bad, but the wait can get a little tiresome (especially if inconsiderate people log in for a second session while people are waiting... *AHEM* really fat girl sending out resumes next to me).
I have lots of books, but it's nice to know in case I need another one I can get it free here (neat idea, huh?). I think I'll check out some DVD's to watch until Netflix can send me the new season of Weeds.

Anyway...
I've never used any of the tanning beds here, just the sunless tanning options. Several years ago (probably about 4 or 5) I came here and bought 3 Mystic tans. I wasn't very impressed and never came back. Like Angie P., I recently found a coupon for a free tan so I decided to give them another try.
This time it was like magic. I swear. I used the VersaSpa system. It's really cool, clean, AND even dries you once you're done. Most times when I get a spray tan it feels slimy and takes a while to dry. Not this time. The color was really natural looking and it lasted for about a week. Not bad for $19.95. Unfortunately, their tanning packages are AMAZINGLY expensive. It was over $100 just to get the starter package with unnecessary products and services. I don't doubt that they benefit you on some level, but not high enough for me to care. I can get nice results without all of the craziness, but I digress.
