we've lived down the street from you for the longest time mr. bollywood curryman, and the whole time we've written you off as just another sub-par indian place. that was, of course, until valentines day. ms kim and i decided to try what we thought would be the least crowded place in the 'hood for dinner. as it turned out, while every other fancy restaurant around was dead empty, you guys were bustling, and for good reason. we had the chicken karahi (which you suggested) and it knocked us off our asses (it was that good). we especially like your youtube cooking channel (search for 'bollywood curryman'). we've brought all of our friends here, and will continue to.

while i'll admit that not everything i've had here made me want to go home and accept any deity, it's still been good. i especially like the chili, cesar salad, and grilled eggplant wrap. oh, yogurt you say? they have that too! try the different weekly flavors.

if you go here, go here for the baked goods, not the coffee. i'm not saying this because the coffee is bad, i just don't want to wait behind you while they make your double mocha latte. i need to get to work in the morning, all i'm buying is a muffin, and it's a god damned bakery, not a cafe. get your coffee somewhere else, jesus.

i've had their muffins and their cookies. their muffins, especially the bran, are great. their cookies leave a lot to be desired. the cookies i've tried, snicker doodle and chocolate-chip, were bland, hard and not very sweet.

i take back everything bad i said about yumma's. yumma's has the food of a high end restaurant crammed into a space the size of a garage. but fret not, there's a patio out back. wait for the next warm and sunny day, go here and get one of their great wraps (or make up your own, they're OK with that), and pull up a seat on the patio.

first, i LOVE pancho villa on 16th, it is my favorite burrito shop in the city.

this location, however, seems to fall somewhat short of it's sister shop. all of the ingredients are the same, but the service lacks. lunchtime can be a chaotic mess and the QA on the burrito manufacture is sub-par.

this is a great place to get an awesome & delicious lunch without breaking the bank. their turkey on focaccia sandwich is the best cold sandwich to be had, and their coffee is AMAZING, i could drink gallons of the stuff.

the lunch-time bartender is very charismatic, and their seared ahi tuna sandwich ($13.) is to-die-for. not the cheapest lunchtime stop, but in this neighborhood it's certainly the best.
