Casa Cocina Y Cantina

Can we please just change the name to "Casa?" Jennifer and I continue to explore downtown. This place has a great bar that doubles as an outside patio. They have a very lively happy hour on Fridays. They host a happy hour on Saturday nights after the Grand Performances in the California Plaza.

I recommend the Platinum Margarita and the spicy meat balls with guacamole. it's like a meat lollipop. Fantastic.

The smaller the kitchen the better the food. That's what I say about Mai. The pairing of chorizo and scrambled eggs in a fresh flour tortilla make for an excellent breakfast burrito. Their traditional American Style Breakfast Burrito has cripsy hash browns freshly made when you order and pico de gallo, leave my girlfriend and constant eating companion Jennifer J. says, " Yep, there are no words to describe Mai."

This is mom and pop cafe open early in the mornings, across the street from Cole's and the Pacific Electric Lofts. A full breakfast is only $4.75 and their scrambled eggs are amazing. They have a professional grade juice machine turning out fresh squeezed Orange Juice when you order it. They also have a 42" HDTV so you can watch the news or Sports Center while you are in there for a quick bite.

Champagne and chicken quesadillas. That's how I roll on game 7 Sunday. For only $6.00 you can enjoy a fantastic meal for two people and spend the rest on some bubbly.

I stumbled out of The Bordello, the drinks were awesome. I had to have a burrito later with two LAPD detectives to sober up completely. I followed them into Ye Olde Taco House #1. The Carne Asada burrito was a simple execution of grilled steak, beans, avacados, onions and red chili sauce, all for only $3.99.

It's dark, the drinks are strong. This is a great bar for people that like to drink and have a intimate evening with someone they love. I order the Hemingway, Jennifer has the French 75.

Superior to the ESPN Zone in every way. They have more beer, more seats and better food. They also have more TV"s so this is the best place to watch sports outside of your apartment/loft/condo in downtown.

Cole's has big sandwiches and cold beer on tap. Spatten on tap. For a night out this is a good place to stop for food before you go next door to The Association.

Tacos Tumbras a Tomas

There is so much to say about Tomas. There is so much meat in one taco its the best taco in Los Angeles. The pork carnitas taco is my favorite. The meat is soft and moist and full of smoked flavor you'd think you were eating the idea of perfection of a taco. All for $2.50.

Excellent coffee here in the morning. My girlfriend Jennifer coveted my pastries. Good thing they have a wide variety of freshed baked breads and sweets. Arrived on Saturday morning for the first time and felt at ease and at home. Very comfortable place especially the service. Bottega Louie felt like a five star European Hotel.
