Burger Joint

Michael took us to a place that only a local could know about. Well, that or a clever Yelper like yourself.
Walking through the huge revolving glass door, we enter a posh Manhattan 5-Star hotel lobby. I can smell fries, but they seem out of place.
My reality apropriately whacked, we attempt to continue to walk straight in. We turn left before the elevators, walking down a narrow unlit path between a huge burgundy velvet curtain, and the wall. At the end of the hall, a small neon hamburger on the wall is the only sure reminder that I'm not going mad.
Turn right through the doorway, and I stumble into a burger joint dressed like a college dorm room. All the celebrity autographs on the walls remind me it's not actually a dorm room. Well, that and the MOBS of people enjoying one of the best hamburgers in NYC, and certainly the best priced.

A wonderful fresh seafood spot. Oysters, crab, and the fish and chips are all excellent. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

- The tables and chairs are sticky
- The employees are severely bored and have difficulty with the registers
- The soda machine doesn't have any CO2 in it
- The customers have really *really* bad BO
Lesson learned: skip the fountain soda and get your sammich to go.

One of my favoritest clients just offered to pick us up some dinner since we're both working late tonight. Anchalee was chosen more for proximity to the office than anything else.
I'm happy enough. $12.62 (with tax) for a huge order of Pad Thai and a Thai Iced Tea.
She ordered the chicken satay with some rice. She says it's good, and I can't say anything bad about peanut sauce.
3 stars for the Pad Thai, plus an extra star because I was planning on going hungry until I went home and this is WAY better.

Best idea ever: Strawberry Bruschetta.
Open-face on toasted focaccia. Fresh strawberries, NY cheddar, fresh basil, sesame seeds, candied ginger, almonds, drizzle of honey with a small orange vinaigrette salad. $6.95
Soooo tasty. There's a strawberry crunch salad as well. Yay for taking advantage of all the yummy fresh strawberries in season!
Small portions, medium-high prices, charming atmosphere, free wifi.

Where do you take 20 drunken yelp elite for dinner late Saturday night? Apparently it's Vo's because they took EXCELLENT care of us tonight.
Highlights (that I can remember):
- Awesome cocktails in nice big glasses
- Fried calamari with salt & pepper dipping sauce (wow)
- Pork Belly (wow again)
- Shaken Beef (took a hint from Slanted Door and delivered big)
Bonus, they didn't once reprimand us for being drunk and disorderly.
