having a 4-story theatre so close is really cool. Plus it includes IMAX and 3D! (Which we plan on going to see Night At The Museum 2 IMAX tonight).
I will, however, forgive the technicians IF they have learned how to switch from the pre-movie reel to the movie reel without a 10-minute delay like both the nights we went to before.
It's cool that it also has a parking garage, makes it very convenient and feels safer. Loads of staff and security too.
Me likey!
Pros:
- Mid day crowd is minimal, I was very surprised (I guess the teens wreak havoc later)
- Quiet
- Little 'pockets' you can claim as your own to lay out in peace
- Man-made forts rock!
- More sand to lay in in the 'pockets' so you don't have to deal with trying to lay on rocks
- The sound of the waves crashing
- Decent bathrooms
Cons:
- Seems small, though it's not that small
- Kind of in BFE, moreso than say Carkeek, guess that's why there weren't as many people
- Not much to do, no playground or much of a park
- I saw one shelter
I'd go back if I'm actually up in the area, which is rare....it's a nice getaway beach if you want some decent peace & quiet

For the most part, they are pretty organized, trying to keep it all arranged by color or style.
Really reasonable prices, though, I was amazed. Makes me feel better shopping here than at Ross all the time. Friendly staff, too, they are really cool. When I got up to the counter to check out, I noticed I did not have my debit card with me....damnit! One of the embarrasing things to happen. So, luckily, I live fairly close so I raced home and found it and came right back. They had my tops hanging together by the checkout area and I walked in and the chick (who didn't help me before) knew they were mine and grabbed them for me. They are really on top of it.
Such a temptation to go back there again...and I will....when I have the money and more time to try on things that I would think I would never wear just to see if it actually works for me. :)

She is also fun to chat with, making the time fly.
Even if I were flat broke, I wouldn't go anywhere else just because I need a haircut. This is the first time in my life where I don't hesitate to get my hair done because of the price or in fear of them doing it incorrectly. So much confidence in the person cutting my hair makes it so much easier.

Followed Anna here from Borseno's- more of a convenient location, even. But I've been here to see her twice so far to also get my hair coloured as well as a cut. Both times fabulous- especially this last time she was very particular in knowing exaclty how I wanted my hair. She appreciated the pic I had for the cut I wanted (went to choppy bangs), keeping most of my hair almost black but with a patch of blonde in the front. She did it PERFECTLY. And she is so personable and friendly- definately my spot for getting my hair done.

Such a wonderful atmosphere! Very well-organized and welcoming. I'm just about half-way through school and so excited and motivated! That should tell you a lot about the school.

Thinking of the Massage Therapy field? Well, this should help...
A little background for Everest- the Seattle location used to be Seattle Massage School, then was bought by Ashmead, then Ashmead changed its name to Everest. So it's been around quite a while.
When going to check them out, I never felt pushed at all. No harassing phone calls, only a few mailers here and there. But I jumped into it pretty quick. They show you around while classes are in session so you can actually see what you'll be doing.
So far so good, 3 months into the 1-year program. Recommendation for those interested: Start in the month where your first classes will be the Kinesiology and Anatomy&Physiology for a couple reasons: You will understand more when going into Swedish Massage (where muscles are, and some of the terminology/pathologies), and they are the hardest classes because it's pretty much all lecture so you can get them out of the way.
It's sooooo much fun though. When you get into Swedish Massage, it's like "what did you do in class today"..."Oh, I got a massage" (sometimes 2)...and it is actually fun massaging too.
There is SOOOOOO much that this school encompasses in their curriculum- including Eastern practices and energy work. And if you take the Spa class (which is highly recommended to expand your scope of practice and knowledge to give you more job opportunities), you will learn salt & sugar scrubs, eyruveda techniques, and even a full aromatherapy course.
Each set of 'mods' (courses) are 6 weeks, so it really makes time fly. I still can't believe I am finishing my 2nd mod and going into the 3rd (Deep Tissue) next.
And everyone becomes your best friend. :)
Just FYI- I had checked out the renowned Cortiva School of Massage/Brian Utting but for 2x as much $ it was only massage- any extra courses such as spa or aromatherapy were extra. About $24 thousand for just Massage there vs. $14,000 for EVERYTHING and then some at Everest. (That also includes 2 scrub sets, all books, 2 sets of table sheets, a rolling backpack, a massage table in which you get in your 3rd mod; and for spa some hand towels, oil bottles, essential oils, scrub brushes....omg, there's so much, I might have forgotten something...)
Teachers are thorough, they definately encourage you to ask questions and are eagar to help you. They are fun, positive, and have oodles of experience. And it is AMAZING how well the staff and higher-ups remember your name after one meeting. Due to weird circumstances with snow days and our Swedish teacher being ill, we've got a taste of pretty much all the teachers, and for the most part they are awesome. The only thing that bugs me but can be helpful in showing that there is no right or wrong way, is that different teachers teach differently or in different ways. Can be confusing, but take what you understand and what feels right to you and go with it.
Career Services are there to help you EVERY step of the way- from finding a job while in school to making sure you get a job or owning your own business by the time you graduate. You will even take a Business course to help you with every aspect of being a Massage Therapist and in whatever direction you may go.
Oh and they really like end-of-mod class potlucks and school-wide potlucks and parties. They do like to spoil us!
And, for me, it's convenient and close to home.
Class times to choose from are either 8am-12:30pm or 6:00pm-10:30pm 4 days/week and Spa is 8am-12:00pm 1 day/week.
I'm excited, proud of myself for getting in gear AND doing a great job (it's not hard to pass), and looking forward to becoming a confident and successful Massage Therapist/Spa Specialist thanks to Everest College.
I will review my review once I graduate to see if I still feel the same way- but I don't think much will change, unless improves. :)

I love this place, though. It's a lot bigger than I thought, but still quaint. And, man, are they fast with the food!
Ya, parking sucks, the order line sometimes sucks, but it's an experience of "holy hell" mexican food that is completely satisfying and mind-blowing.

But my 9 yr old son has been going here for 6 months now, already been promoted to Jr. Orange- yay! I'm so proud of him. Besides baseball, this is one thing he has really enjoyed and been motivated to do. And having a great dojo and sensei really helps. I would recommend this place to anyone- kids OR adults. Even makes ME want to join if I had the $ and time!
And it is also an after-school program so my son can take the bus from school and they have study/homework time, snacks, and play time before class. And really reasonable prices. You can go anywhere from 1-5 days/week, the more the better. Currently my son goes 3 days for now- hopefully more once we have the fundage.
This place is really organized, well-kept, and they are very communicative with the parents as well as being involved- with competitions, day camps, and care/camps during school breaks as well as the summer. They go on field trips for day camps which is great as it keeps the kids active even when they aren't doing Karate.
Highly recommended to anyone. :)

Aside from that, James L. & I didn't know the above until Saturday when we planned to go get some eats here with a gift certificate.
To the point- the atmosphere was nice, dark, seemingly romantic...but they had a big screen above the bar (which is in the middle of the restaurant where we sat) and they had a basketball game on. Now, even though it wasn't busy, there were people in there that were engrosed in the game, even shouting and clapping at times. Kinda broke the whole embiance for me.
The food was OMGooood. We had several appetizers then shared the 'Spur of the Moment' entree which was Salmon that particular evening. Given that it wasn't salmon season, it was really bland- but what made it so incredibly delicious and flavourful was the garnish on it. They, however, laid it on a lot of fresh greens (too much I think- it was almost like a salad) but it also came with asparagus.
We had cocktails and the lady bartender serving us really didn't know what she was doing. Mine didn't taste right and she had to look up the recipe for James'. But she was good at checking in on us often, but then all of the sudden she left without saying goodbye and the guy bartender taking over didn't even greet us until about 15-20 minutes later and didn't check in on us much at all.
We thought about having dessert but there were only 3 actual dessert items, one of which the bartender said was not currently available. So, no dessert. All the other items were dessert wines and scotches.
Oh, and the wine menu was so unorganized. Red here, white there, oh but some more red here, oh look, more white! Ugh...but I did have a glass of the Reisling which was to die for.
btw- a disco ball above the bar???? I don't get it. I mean they do have live music there later in the evening, but...a disco ball? It's not like you can dance in that place.
So the 2 stars is really for the food only. If only the service was better.
But I'm sure we'll go back just for the food and to check out Martin's new night at his new place.

Though I do find the extremely high counters inside with stools that just don't make it for a comfortable reach. That's why we sat outside and enjoyed the sun while devulging some of the best fast food ever.
