This is the type of place that makes Portland the great city that it is.
I will be back for the Tuesday "all night chili dogs" nights.

I used to be a huge fan of this place but this is very disheartening. What happened Lompoc? You used to have the best service.
Beers were still great.

I don't care if its smokey and its a little run down - this place has character! Their beers are fantastic and I love the fact that they change them up on a frequent basis. I have yet to be disappointed in any of their crafts.
The food is traditional pub fare and has always been excellent - way better than Rock Bottom and cheaper.
The outdoor patio is simply the best. It has an indoorish section thats heated during the winter and a larger patio area thats great for summer nights. The place is Dog friendly so feel free to bring Fido along.
If anything, above all else, the coolest feature is the bathroom. I freaked when I saw that they had the 'Godfather' style toilet - a rarity these days. It truly adds to the atmosphere and gives the place its own style.
Come in not expecting the Ritz and you wont be disappointed. It's very chill and a great place to unwind with some friends.

This wasn't the first time I had been there (I thought I had given this place 3 stars originally but somehow I cant find my review so I guess I didn't).
I will not be back. Avoid this place.

Thus far I have not been disappointed. I will be back to pick up the remaining books in the series. Sure you can pick them up for cheap online but without places like these you'll never know what the great reads are or remember what it feels like to fall in love again with something you left so long ago.

Oh and WTF is with the kiddie playground in the bar? Seems way out of place.

Cheers NW
Neighborhoods: Northwest, Alphabet District
A few of us decided to finally check this corner establishment out. After all, it was Sunday night and not a whole lot was going on. The best way to describe the interior of Cheers would have to be "bowling alley bar that someone set fire to but it didn't burn everything, it just blackened it." Fair enough for me though, I've been to worse places.
Bartender was exceptionally nice and pricing was great for tap and bottles. There are your 2 stars.
Now the real fun part. Using the restroom I discovered that unless you sit down on the seat (and please please don't do that) you end up exposing yourself to anyone in the parking lot behind the place due to a poorly placed window. Fun. The worst part comes when I left the restroom and noticed a pile of poo in plain sight right on my way back. That's right, poo. A big pile of poo.
I'm sorry but poo is where the line has been crossed and its time to go. Really a shame because I can see so much potential in cheers.

Cocktails are original and very strong, well worth what they charge, no watered down drinks here.
They also have a large selection of absinthe. I'll have to go back to try that out.
