Just tried this place for the first time... Very good, attentive, service. All the food I tried was great. Honey Walnut Roll was especially good - give it a shot. My girl is a big fan of their chicken katsu. I appreciate the comfy booths. The plaza it's in is annoyingly hoity toity, and the place is a bit pricey, but I'm sure I'll be back.

Such a good place... though it's easy to miss. I've only had breakfast here a couple of times, but it was really good. More often, I would stop by to pick up dinner when the boo was living in San Ramon. Sandwiches, soups, and Mexican cuisine are all on point. I just wish they were open later!

No better place for your D.D. to take you at 3 in the morning. There've been many a time when all I could mutter is, "Cardnil!" Nice, big, greasy portions to soak up any amount of alcohol you wish to get rid of. It's even pretty good for breakfast when you're sober, or so I hear.

Probably my favorite 24 hour spot in the city. Good food at any time of the day -- what more can you ask for?! I usually end up getting a burger, but you can order breakfast at any time of the day. It's small and cozy enough to ensure that you're never overlooked, and fellow patrons are usually quite cheerful.

Just went to the S.F. incarnation for the first time to see the Jean-Michel Pilc Trio. I was really impressed with the performance area - there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The food was good, not great. I did enjoy munching on the garlic edamame throughout the show though. We had a good server, but the food runners and bus boys need to learn to shut up while a performance is happening! I'm sure I'll be back again, though I do prefer Yoshi's in Oakland.

The Gallery Lounge

I first fell in love with the Gallery a couple years ago during a super-stressful streak at work. A friend and I would literally be at the bar every night, and were often the only ones there.

Since then, somewhat to my dismay, it has become a lot more popular! The staff is still what I consider to be the best in the city. Stiff drinks, super-attentive, and pretty good about keeping those popcorn bowls filled up.

Sometimes I wish I could go back to the days when the Gallery meant drunk bartenders, creepy art, and solitude at the bar, but I guess those days will just have to live on as happy memories. =)

A cozy little place right off El Camino. No wait to be seated, super-fast and attentive service. It seemed like a place regulars make up a good portion of customers. I had a sausage and cheese omelette, english muffin, and potatoes, with orange juice for about $10. Left with a full tummy! Can't ask for much more than that.

Stopped in for breakfast, and it was really good. I had the Mexican omelette, my girlfriend had simple bacon, eggs, and pancakes. All were tasty. The staff was very friendly and attentive as well. A firetruck parked across the street, and the whole crew came in to eat as well, which is usually a good sign. I liked the fact that the bar next door was open at 10a on a Sunday too. I'll be back!

Hola Mexican Restaurant & Cantina

I used to live in Belmont a few years ago, and recently moved back. Back then, Hola was GREAT - food and service. Lately, the food is good, but the service has been really disappointing. The wait-staff always look like they have about 5 too many tables, and it's especially frustrating if you've had to wait a while to get in. There's a burrito place in the same shopping center that I have been opting to go to more and more.
