You can put a hula skirt on a burger, slap on some lip stick and play some hawaiian music, but it's still a burger. Throw in some tacos and some salads, some beer and some shakes and BAM, you've got Islands. TVs with surfing and skateboarding stuff are all over as well as Tiki and surf board decorations. Your table looks kinda like a surf board too. For kids, they got the usual kids meals, but you can sub out french fries for carrots and applesauce. They also have pretty cool kids menus/activity books that kept me, err, the kids entertained.

Wow and double WOW. This place is great. The best frozen yogurt experience I've ever had. Better than Penguins even. Here, you are in control of everything the whole time. This beats punkberry by a mile.
You get a cup, fill it with whatever mix of flavored frozen yogurt you want and then add whatever toppings you want. You are in control, you decide everything, it's that simple. They weigh it and then you pay. You can get as much of anything as you want. They let you try all of them too. My only gripe is that they give you such a large cup that you end up getting more than you really need. But really, you can get as little or as much as you want. I halfway filled two of their smaller cups and left paying $8. I can picture people coming in with $5 and going back and forth weighing and then adding until it gets up to $5. The place is painted bright and the staff are very friendly. I even met the owner. Very nice. For anyone who wants to be in control of your fro-yo, this is the place to eat.

There's no mulling over what you want here. You come for lunch, you stand in line and the line moves fast. You better know what you want before you get to the tortilla guy or you risk having a 10 person pileup behind you, kind of like those check-card commercials. Having been there before for dinner, I knew what to order, but lunch is much more fast paced.
The menu is simple, almost like a mexican In-n-Out: Burritos, tacos, fajitas; made with chicken, steak, carnitas or veggetarian. They'll make it however you want, you just tell them what to do with the ingredients they have. And do it fast cause the line is moving. Oh crap, what kind of salsa,....um.... Hot! No more choices please, just wrap the damn thing up and let me outta here!
Whew, I made it. Back in the car where I could catch my breath, I tasted this fat handfull of a chicken burrito I ordered. The chicken was tasty, the rice I could have done without, but it filled me up quickly. The "Hot" salsa wasn't that hot. If it's hot, I get hiccups, I wasn't even close to hiccupping. It tasted like tabasco to me. The Pico de Gallo looked fresh, I should have gotten that. I know from past visits that the chicken is a little too spicy for kids so don't include it in a quesadilla. I liked it though. The tortillas were good quality and the service, although fast, was actually pretty good.

Recently opened, this is a very personable little tea shop with huge tins of tea on the shelves, a beautiful granite countertop and everything that has to do with tea. Donna, the owner, takes pride in her work and will find just the right cup of tea for you. My wife told them what types of flavours I liked and Donna found just the right ones for me. I went back myself to buy some tea for my mom and enjoyed smelling several teas and trying some of their samples. They are extrememly nice here and I look forward to restocking my tea tins soon. I've enjoyed my tea every day because of them. I've also seen coupons in the local papers and mailers. Well done All Things Tea.

An old Ventura house turned into a cafe, this little gem is just the spot for a breakfast/lunch/brunch. We were sat within 5 minutes on a Saturday morning at a seat near the window by the entrance. We ordered a bree and papaya quessadilla and the BBQ chicken salad. They were both very good. Odd to put fruit in a quesadilla, but it tasted good to me. We also had a very strong Mimosa. The glass of iced tea was humungous. With the meal came a nice cornbread blueberry muffin and then after the meal they served these yummy little muffins with a creamy topping that left us with a very good taste in our mouths.
