omg, this place was so freakin good! now that i have no social life, i've been exploring lots of local spots. i would always walk past this place on my way to the nasty ballys gym next door. anyways....
everything i tried was very tasty and the meat was cooked just right and salty charred delicious! there's lots of friendly eye candy (thanks cute brazilian worker guy!) and they even carry diet guarana!

i once met this cute waiter at literati cafe who happened to be brazilian and so naturally i asked where i could get good authentic brazilian food on the westside. cafe brasil was his recommendation.
not sure why, but i was expecting white linen tablecloths and stuffy waiters, but instead i was greeted with a breezy indoor/outdoor patio with bright colors reminiscent of the favelas of rio. it really did feel like a little slice of oasis on the otherwise dingy venice blvd.
my friend and i both had sandwiches -chicken for her, steak for me - and it was both very tasty, served with extra "salsa". but i think the atmosphere is what will bring me back here again, and next time i'm getting a plate!

yeah, their stuff is expensive. (4 frozen bagels for $10? what??!) and yeah, their hours are weird - to the point of abuse. but we still go there b/c it's the best and biggest selection of GF/CF dairy free baked goods anywhere... and it actually tastes good!
please open another sensitive baker on the eastside or OC with longer hours and i'll be forever grateful :)

parking - good.
patio - lovely. until the noisy little rugrats were towed in by their parents. i think children under the age of 10 should not be allowed in "adult" restaurants. what is it about strollers and brunch that have to go together? anyways....
food - ok. my egg white omelet was way too salty
price - decent. $12 for salty omelet, fruit salad, and bread. no drink.
music - started on the patio sunday at 10am. sounded lovely.
service - prompt. but they seemed really eager to take away our plates. i hate when they're trying to snatch that plate from you just b/c you only have one bite of food left doesn't mean i'm done eating. nor does it mean i want you to check back every 3 min to see if i want my plate cleared!
ps - i'm not a grouchy hater, really ;P

tasty, charming, with friendly service. ginormous portions fit for a massive samoan or about 3 meals for a normal person. my first time having hawaiian food in a restaurant setting since returning from hawaii in 2006.

didn't realize this was jin hong gak by reading the reviews.
anyways, i was craving some jajangmien in ktown so of course i turned to trusty old yelp.
service was super nice. and when i asked for jamjamyun (which they don't have), our waiter offered to split each order of noodles for us. after he took our order, he overheard my friend asking if the meat used was pork and when i told her that i didn't think it was, the waiter came over and said that pork was indeed used, but they can also make a version with beef. thanks dude! so we each got to try they jajangmyun (black bean noodles) and jam bong (spicier than usual, but still rich and hearty).

Perfect lunch spot. friendly service, customizable burgers...
i felt like i was at a sushi restaurant with that sheet of paper and the little pencils - cute!
i preferred the onion strings over the sweet potato fries.
wish they had a few more "pre selected" type burgers for indecisive types like me, but i love to choose my own adventure like this :)

all you can eat korean bbq - ain't nothing wrong with that, esp at 15.99 per person. service was a bit slow on a saturday night, even after ringing that doorbell thing repeatedly, but at least the staff was pretty nice about it all. i hope they didn't spit in our food for having to ask for things repeatedly.
smoke was a little blinding, so make sure you wear something you'll be washing right away afterwards...
i did enjoy their little yogurt thing they give you at the end... it kinda reminded me of a lychee flavor? and it's not the tart pinkberry-ish yogurt, which i despise, so yay!
