Cotton Belt really deserves 4 1/2 stars from me... but I just *couldn't* give it 5. To be honest though, this has by far been my favorite barbecue in Texas :D GREAT hot links and brisket, plus they serve black-eyed peas :D Black-eyed peas! One of my favorites, and I was able to scarf to my heart's delight. Also, their fries aren't just normal french fries - they're super tasty potato wedges, cooked to order. I could go on and on about how much I loved the food, but I'll leave it alone and instead say that their sauce is reeeeally tasty, too :D
My main purchases are probably the curry ketchup, semmelknoedel, kartoffelpuffer, gemuese knoedel, and of course pfeffernuesse during the holidays :)
All of your purchases are placed into a brown paper gift bag with red, black, and gold ribbons tied around the handle... not to mention the free mini-packs of Haribo gummi bears they throw in, too. :) All the employees are super friendly too, which is a major plus.
The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because I grew up being spoiled with the greatness that is Alpine Village in California... I don't think anything could ever equal that for me. lol

I went back in February (day before Valentine's Day) with my brother while he was visiting from California because his girlfriend was meeting some friends here for drinks. Really, I'm not even going to touch their dress code policy... I'm all for dress codes, but seriously... the problem we had that night was total bullshit.
Anyways, we get inside, and I feel more like I'm walking into a club than a sushi restaurant for some drinks. We head over to the bar area and can barely talk because of the crappy club music they were blasting over the speakers. There's literally NO walking room, because everyone's all crammed together standing around. Behind me, there's a sofa where a girl is practically giving her boyfriend a lapdance, and to my right there's a coffee table that a drunk hipster is standing on top of and dancing. I was instantly annoyed, and it only kept building and building inside every time the lapdance skank accidentally rubbed her butt against mine while she was freak dancing her boyfriend.
It was a damn good thing we left right about then, because I was about to throw down with a skank in a red dress. Urgggh... will never be back, no matter what. Not for food, not for drinks... nothing.
The problem for me was the food. The fish was a little too warm, but my biggest problem was the seaweed. All the rolls we ordered that had seaweed in them were too difficult to chew because the seaweed was WAY too firm! At first I didn't mind it, but it seemed to get worse and worse throughout the meal, until I finally didn't feel like eating anymore.
The Rainbow Roll was delicious, as was the Spider Roll and the Spicy Tuna Roll. We ordered some type of Crawfish Roll also, which I didn't like too much... it had hardly any flavor... or maybe it was too creamy - I'm not sure.
All in all, I'd probably go back if my friend wanted to again, but I wouldn't ever crave Hanasho, nor would I ever invite friends. It just didn't cut it for me.
TIP: $10 piercings (basic only, and only above the neck I think) every Thursday.

I went to North Texas Tattoo Co back in September of last year after reading Belinda F's review of it. Yeahhh I'm just now writing the review, but that's for a good reason, I assure you! I had a couple of small tattoos done on the inside of my wrists, and I wanted to wait around 6 months to see whether or not they faded or anything, and whether or not they'd do a touch-up, if needed, without giving me a problem.
Kristal did my work, and she is a total (talented!) sweetheart. The work wasn't overpriced, she was pretty quick, and I was completely fascinated by her, for some reason.
She inked me up and sent me home, and about a month or two later I was calling her up because I needed the work touched up. I've had tattoos before that I didn't need touch-ups on, but I did with these, for whatever reason. I took very good care of them, but they were on the inside of my wrists and I think it's just one of those places where there's too much friction (even when you try very carefully to keep your wrist raised while you're writing). Anyways, she told me to come back in, and she fixed me up real quick with no hassles at all. The work looks awesome, and now, 6 months later, I'm finally writing to tell you all that the work stayed looking good. I will definitely be back for piercings, and highly recommend this shop :)

First to Review
I was perfectly happy with my electricity service from Gexa for several months. That is, until I had to move. We're talking about service that, in my opinion, deserved 5 stars... going down to service that only deserves 1 or 2. I met them in the middle and went with 3.
I chose Gexa as my electricity provider when I moved to Houston because they had been recommended to me by a couple of Houstonian Yelpers. Their rates and flyer miles programs (American and Continental) are what sold me on them, and I found convenience in their auto-debit billing. For 4 months, I had not one problem with my service, and I was personally very satisfied with the level of customer service I received on any occasion where I needed to call and talk to someone.
Then I found my apartment in Ft. Worth, and I arranged to have my service transferred over, which was going to include a 3-day overlap. Basically, everything went downhill from there. For those 3 days, I was billed for more electricity usage than I have in a typical month. I called them to find out what the hell happened, and it turned out to be a billing mistake, which they told me they fixed. I believed it was fixed until my bank account got debited for $113 in service that I didn't use - charges that they realized (more than a week before my account was debited) were erroneous and told me I wouldn't be debited for. So now, my bank account has been debited for 2 separate bills, and Gexa tells me that they can't reimburse me - I have to keep a credit on my account instead, and my next month's bill will be deducted from the credit. So what happens? I don't even RECEIVE a bill/statement for the next month. The amount is just deducted right from my account credit!
This was really frustrating, because I like to look at my bill and make sure that everything on it looks okay. I guess they just figured I didn't need one, since I wasn't technically "paying" it anyways. I immediately removed myself from the auto-debit program, because I don't want them to have access to my bank account anymore after this. Soooo frustratingggg...

Cafe Brazil

Someone else wrote that they don't like having to get up to go get coffee, and I agree. I came in here so damn drunk last night, and all I wanted was some greasy breakfast, full of potatoes and country gravy... and some coffee. When I found out I had to get up and try to zig-zag my way through other tables full of burn-able people while I'm drunk and trying to carry hot coffee.... *sigh* I gave it a try, and got pie-eyed when I saw the coffee selection, and then started pouting when I discovered that all the coffees I wanted the most were empty. Hmph. I carefully made my way back to my table, trying not to spill any of my hot death on anyone, and luckily only sloshed coffee onto the floor twice.
Our waiter was cool, and he did well with my table, at which 2/3 of the patrons were so drunk they could barely read the menu.
My friend fell out of his chair at one point, which had a girl from another table staring at us for a second, but she never made a face or gave us dirty looks. Thanks, whoever you were! lol
Honestly, the food wasn't that great. I ordered a country fried steak, and that's exactly what I got... unfortunately. I like a country fried steak I can practically cut with my fork... the ground beef-like kind. No, this was a battered STEAK. I needed to saw away at it with a steak knife, which sucked because I wanted to just wolf it down until I was sober enough to walk straight. I ended up not eating much of it because I don't like steak. The hash brown casserole was good, though. To be honest, I don't remember anything else about my meal. I couldn't tell you what else was on my plate.
I'll definitely be trying Cafe Brazil again... sober. Or at least a little less inebriated. Maybe my taste buds will disagree with this review. Or maybe I'll be able to read the menu better and find something that seems more appetizing.
They also have a covered patio, which is nice when the weather is right (which it was). Another bartender was telling me that they're trying to get some outdoor heaters for the patio, but they don't have any right now.
As for the food, I really liked it, personally! I was torn between these amazing-sounding fries with chili, cheese, bacon, and a slew of other heart attack-inducing goodies, or a salmon sandwich. With Whitney's advice, I opted for the sandwich, and it was so so sooooo good. I know... salmon at a bar? That's like sushi at the mall food court... but I took my chances and it was really good. lol
Overall I really liked it here, and will definitely be coming back... especially since I work so closeby :) I liked the atmosphere, and it didn't feel snobby or anything like that at all.

Just wanted to let everyone know the details I dug up :) I gave this update the same 4 stars I gave my original review because my opinion on the food here never changed... right up until they shut their doors. RIP Cotton Belt... this young lady will miss you.
