Simple, great tasting, good quality Italian food.  Reasonably priced, doesn't pretend to be something it's not.  Surprisingly good.  This will be one of our staple eateries for when we close on our new place in Bonnie Brae this week (all going well).  Kid friendly and really gets busy around 6pm on the weekend so book in advance - we'd to wait 15 mins coming in off the street.  Delgado pizza, eggplant parma, salad, one tiramisu and two glasses of house red - around $65 with tip.  Fair enough.  Not intimate/romantic - do a few blocks to Gaylord for that perhaps - or Cherry Creek.  Good mix of families, buddies, etc.  Service efficient and unpretentious.

Their website is awful, but at least it's truly awful and not just kinda bad. http://www.saucynoodle...

Great.
We went on recommendation from colleagues - our 2nd wedding anniversary and well worth it - so that'll be the 2nd time in two years we've had a meal without our loveable but NOISY infant.  This place didn't disappoint.  Even the appetiser - carbonara - was excellent.  We did the 52/80 menu and it was excellent.  Love the window into the kitchen so you can actually see the waiter collecting your order.  The owner (looks a bit like the unfortunate chef from the Sopranos) is very nice and greeted every table the night we were in.  The food was wonderful and the service fantastic - very informative but not pushy.  We'll definitely go again.  Who says you have to take a hit on the food quality if you move from San Francisco to Denver - not necessarily!

This place brings back memories of playing under 13 football in the East Neuk o Fife.  Great Fife fayre and very much worth a visit.  Fife is the place to be.  If this place is good enough for Tom Hanks, it's good enough for a'bdy else.

As I'm a Fifer I can say this - the portions should be bigger - but then again maybe I've been stateside for too long.

Worth a visit - we took a table in the upper level (roof garden area) that they had open tonight, perhaps due to the stock show being in town (they usually only open that area during the summer apparently).  We had to sit here as we didn't have a reservation and the main rest. area was fully booked.  It worked out well in the end - we had the place to ourselves for most of the meal and we had our toddler son with us who can be pretty noisy - I mean if you're gonna drop $40+ on a steak you don't want some kid ruining the vibe however cute he might be.

About that vibe - think lots of paintings, old photos and hunting memorabilia on the walls.  Red/White checked tablecloths.  Definitely not business / first date material but family / friend orientated.  Oh yeah - it's situated in the projects but that's neither here nor there unless you're walking there I suppose / or you want to avoid a slightly more dangerous side of town for whatever reason.

All in all we were impressed with the food (we had the buffalo tenderloin and the beef tenderloin).  The portions were decent (you get one small side and a small soup included in the price of your steak) and the Pinot from Oregon was surprisingly good.  The desserts were yum also.  We'll be back with friends/ family when the time comes.

2 mains / 2 deserts / 1 bottle of lower priced Oregon wine = $165 all in.

This was a good experience for some Sunday evening dining - I'd definitely come back here and bring friends so that is probably the best endorsement I can give it.

Like other reviews mention, the portions were not large (I ordered the largest fish and chips - the three piece) but it was good.  Wife ordered soup for an appetizer and pasta for main and that was more than enough and was also good.  So I think the rule is - if you are hungry - order an appetizer  and a main!

We took our 11 month year old son here and the staff were very accommodating and welcoming - we weren't sure if we should eat here as it was pretty cozy inside but the staff made it work and had a great attitude about it all.

It's not cheap, but the ambiance and service make it good value for money.  The staff did cool little things like bring us bread for the kid for free and regularly fill up your water and they also round your check to the nearest nickel which makes tipping easier.  I got the feeling a lot of the customers were regulars which is always a good sign.

Cool decor (New England), welcoming atmosphere, great staff, good food.

Very good.  The designer (from San Francisco) and financiers put time and effort into the planning of this organization and it shows.  Thanks to all the yelpers who reviewed and responded to my requests for additional information on this place and the surrounding area.

Glen Oaks is definitely worth the $.  The room we had (a queen #8) was clean, adequately sized and well stocked (mini fridge, enough clean towels, fan, safe etc).  There was also a small deck area where you could sit outside.  Free coffee at reception was a also a nice touch. The rooms had a thoughtful design, with the bathroom particularly impressive.  The staff at the Motel were friendly and helpful.  We stayed there three nights.  We also brought our 9 month year old son and that worked out fine - some establishments are (understandably) unenthusiastic about letting young children stay.  3 nights - just under $600 - a good deal for the area.

Apart from the good standard of accommodation, the real value of the Glen Oaks in the location - which is fantastic (really close - under 5 miles - to many major attractions (beach hikes, mountain hikes etc) and there are plenty eating / drinking choices in the surrounding area - a couple you can actually walk to - a breakfast place to the right and a tasty dinner place called the Roadhouse opposite the Glen Oaks).

I thought that a few of the fixtures in the bathroom might have been a little higher quality and also the air conditioning system could have been a little better (there was a fan) as it got very warm inside.

I  recommend to people like me who can't afford / can't justify paying for the Post Ranch Inn.   Book in advance!

Good value if booked through http://priceline.com or another discounted service.   Took wife, son and mum here in early April 08.  The location is nice and near LAX - 20 mins or so.  The hotel is clean enough and looks like it's been newly painted inside.  The lobby is moody and low lit - I liked it - definitely the classiest part of the hotel.  If you tell the staff you want to self park you'll save yourself some $$$ and they'll park for you / let you park even if their isn't self park spaces.  Concierge so so - the tour they suggested we do wasn't very good.  I booked through http://priceline.com and got a great deal so I was happy all in all.  I wouldn't have given this hotel 4 stars if I was paying the standard rate for the 2 rooms I hired - way too expensive.  The rooms are quite small especially if you have a baby.  The pool is small but decent.  All in all it's in a good location for the santa monica / venice / malibu beaches / Getty / Hollywood etc and the staff are pretty chill.  Breakfast buffer $20 pp and worth it.  I'd stay here again.  Top tip - demand a room with a view of the ocean.

I know I'm swimming against the tide here, but, I really don't know what all the fuss is about. My wife took me here for my birthday and it was OK - to be honest however the steak was just as good at other SF locations i.e. Houston's (a chain) or DiMaggio's (a theme). Granted, the decor was nice and the layout was unique but all this raving about the seating and the atmosphere and the steak itself is totally over the top as far as I'm concerned. I think this place has enormous brand equity and is old by (American) California standards and that seems to count for so much in its reviews here - but it's not spectacular.  The glass of wine I ordered was average (the house red) and the service was decent, but not great.  I would give it 2 1/2 if that was an option. If I was asking my wife to marry me or marking some other important occasion I wouldn't choose this place.

Jacqueline's attitude is great - I've only been in for advice on stores and a small ticket valentine's pressie but both times I've found her very cool and fun.  She obviously has a passion for what she does and in this city and state is all about the attitude as a means for setting you apart.  East and West coasts unite and the chemistry works. Drop in and check it out in the increasingly uber hip Hayes Valley.

Nice place - pricey, but that's midtown NYC.  We walked right in off the street on a snowy Tuesday night - it was busy. Wish I could give it 31/2 starts.  A friend and I went there for a couple of hours - beers good, seating girl good, waitress not so great - sneezed a lot!  Eclectic mix of consumers which is always a good sign.  We had the braised beef dish on a bed of fries (different, good but salty at the bottom) and the burger, which people seem to rave about - I've news for you - it's tiny and nothing special. They cram people in also so if you don't mind some guy's chair backing into yours then no worries.  However, you get decent value for money and the atmosphere is good - worth trying if you're in the 'hood - you could do a lot worse in midtown.  4 beers, 1 desert and 2 mains = $97.
