Sticky Rice
Categories: Sushi Bars, Japanese
Neighborhood: H Street Corridor/Atlas District/Near Northeast
This place is awesome. I've gone many times for lunch and the pick three meal is always superb, and is pretty cheap. The butter chicken is probably my favorite, followed by the chicken vindalu and the lamb or goat curry.
The mango lassi is also delicious and the staff is aces.

Fox and Hounds Lounge
Category: Lounges
Neighborhood: Dupont Circle
The food was so-so. I had a blue cheese burger. It was decent but didn't blow me away. That would have been fine but the Guiness was served in a chilled glass. I'm picky about my Guinness being poured properly. Fox and Hound used a chilled glass, so they lost a point there. Other than that, everything was good, and the price was right. I'd go back.

Food was great, but the wait was a little long. I hadn't heard any hype other than the article on the Washington Capitals website mentioning that they had given Chef Spike a Capitals jersey at the VIP opening. The article mentioned he had been a competitor on Top Chef, but I don't really pay attention to the show and didn't recognize him anyway.
I did notice that while the food was tasty, the cooking was inconsistent even amongst my party of 3. All three burgers were cooked to different temperatures, which I doubt was intentional. We were never asked for our temperature preferences.
The fries were delicious, and I loved the mayo dipping bar.
The strawberry shake was also delicious.
All in all I enjoyed it and will definitely go back.

Skewers Restaurant
Category: Middle Eastern
Neighborhood: Dupont Circle
If you're looking for some delicious and light fare, definitely check out Skewers. Delicious middle-eastern food, and a great feel to the space. All the way upstairs, they have DJs on at least one night a week (Wednesdays) that I know of, but possibly more.
Happy Hour/Dinner specials seem awesome during the week. On the last night I went, they had a selection of their appetizers available for $2 each. That makes it really easy to pick up a variety of things and not break the bank, especially with a group. The filet mignon kebabs are delicious, and are served with sauted mushrooms. I also tried the lamb and the chicken, and found them awesome as well.
The lounge upstairs is nice and cozy with deep red and yellow hues and a very mellow feel. The music on Wednesdays is nice and mellow, a great background to your conversations, which I find refreshing in town when most venues are so loud you can't hear yourself think.
Definitely a place to mingle and relax after work. Try the Pomtini!
