Lucia's coming back for good! If you hurry, you can catch her before she leaves (then comes back for good).

I made my appointment with text messaging. Yes, I texted their line thinking Sraddha still worked there. Got a response that she was working tonight. Asked for a wax appointment after 6pm. Got a response and I confirmed a 6:30pm appointment. I would actually recommend calling because it IS more personal, but I was in the middle of a crazy work day and couldn't leave for even a minute to call. So I didn't know Lucia was back until I arrived at the door and she opened it with a big warm welcome and smile.

I had absolutely no pain immediately after the wax. No numbing. She is more thorough and takes her time with the wax and every area you want. I have to say I am really glad Lucia is coming back for good. She is fantastic and really knows what she is doing. I heard awesome things about her, but was only able to see Sraddha in the past.

Sraddha quit. I am much happier going to Lucia though. I wasn't coming back here for a while because I wasn't so into Sraddha and her waxing technique.

    GO SEE LUCIA!

You really can't beat her waxing technique, with the HARD WAX, at $45 and no charge for your first time or over 4-5 weeks growth.

Have you ever had a Brazilian wax with the hard wax the dries into a taffy like substance? It doesn't hurt at all! Maybe just a tiny bit. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being extremely painful, the hard wax is about a 4 and the hot wax with cloth strips is about a 8.5 on the pain factor. Yes, it makes that much of a difference.

Waxing is addicting. The pain is good pain, comparable to tattoo pain. Except waxing is removing, tattooing is permanent.

I've got to go back here...it's so good.

Oh, by the way, if you haven't heard of Lucia's, her business has been around for over 10 years. There is no luxurious setting here. You drive to a little residential area with houses and apartments, her place is tiny and just big enough for one person to be worked on at a time. She takes her time and doesn't rush you through anything.

Personally I have only seen Sraddha Ferry, Lucia's employee.

    My friends have seen Lucia.

    They are both wonderful.

Not sure if you have the guts to go Brazilian? Just try it once, here.

I really like this place. The way it's set up, is awesome for larger groups. A lot of times you can get a whole little hut or room to yourself.

The sashimi and sushi seem pretty fresh as well.

Service is pretty excellent and seems they are very happy to serve their customers.

Great food, rolls were a bit small, but really good. Service was excellent. Nice mellow chill vibe.

You should go to http://Restaurant.com and buy a $25 gift certificate for $10 or less when they have promotion codes every couple weeks. The gift certificates don't expire in California, so you're good.

The dishes are large and tasty. I've been there three times. The third time they RAN OUT OF RICE before it was even 12:00 PM. Two of the three of us in my party were craving rice with hot food. The rice noodles are cold. The garlic noodles are okay, but too much raw garlic, not cooked well enough.

Service is pretty quick. If you know the times to go, you should go before and after the rush hour. Five minutes will make a difference.

Noodle Dish: PAD SEE EW -- It's fresh and not as strongly sauced as other Thai places I've been to, but it's still pretty good. I ended up eating almost all of it, when normally I can only eat half. I couldn't tell if it's the portions being smaller or if it's because the strength of the soy sauce flavor wasn't so overpowering I could eat more of it.

Soup: WOON SEN -- silver noodle with prawn, ground pork, green onion, tofu, mushroom and napa cabbage. I ordered this, not really thinking about how it would taste minus the prawns and green onions. I'm allergic to shrimp and don't really like too many green onions. I know I'm a picky eater. The soup ended up tasting like hot water with noodles, ground pork, tofu and cabbage. No flavor whatsoever. I put soy sauce in each bite, along with some pepper and salt that didn't help a bit. Oh well, back to my regular then.

On another note, the Thai iced tea here is great and they give you a good amount. Although I think they premix it when I like to mix it myself when they bring it to the table.

Quick, friendly, cheap, tasty.

When you go in there for the first time, it's a little crazy, you don't know where to stand, you don't know where to order, you don't know where to pay.

I don't care though, I got my food, quick and easy, cheap is under $7 and I may even make this two meals because I'm a small eater.

I've got to try the breakfast burritos one day.

Happy.

Last time I was in Los Angeles, I went to The Dark Side and got PB*. It was pretty good. It was creamy. Which now means, I can no longer say that Cafe Delatti tastes the same as PB. Cafe Delatti has a more thin, refreshing, tart flavor. PB is more creamy tart. I'm surprised that I got this reaction. I wasn't expecting that at all. I love Cafe Delatti and if they were closer to SF, I would take so many people there.

They now have Customer Rewards cards, buy 9 and get your 10th free! I love you Delatti. Will you come home with me?

    Original Review 9.06.07
I passed this place by as I searched for parking in the neighborhood. After dinner, they were still open, so I had to try it as I have been looking for a fro-yo place in Northern Cal to substitute my PB cravings.

    DELATTI's is BETTER THAN PB!

They have a lot of flavors and not just yogurt, also coffee, tea and smoothies. I notice one of the other reviewers mentioned the flavors, the missing one is Blueberry.

Being an original PB lover, I tried the original flavor. I got a small and boy was it huge! Their small is equivalent to PB's medium on a good day. They try to pack on the toppings, but since they put SO MUCH YOGURT, a lot of them fell off.

In my opinion, the original flavor is NOT creamery than PB's. They have the best topping of all, MOCHI BALLS!

I love you Cafe Delatti, will you please open one up closer to me in San Francisco, preferable in the Potrero Hill district, how about right on 16th Street and Kansas Street? Can't blame me for trying.

I took some pictures (uploaded) as they have a great amount of seating and the vibes and atmosphere in the place are great. The employee was talking with a couple friends who were visiting the store, but immediately when I walked up to the counter, he put all attention on ME. Definitely great service.

Can't wait to go back there as soon as I have a chance to head out to the South Bay again.

    Original or Chocolate Flavor
     Small $2.50
     Medium $3.50
     Large $5.50

    Toppings
     1 for $1
     2 for $1.25
     3  for $1.50

    * PB = Pinkberry (saving face time for Cafe Delatti since this review is not about PB, but I personally am comparing them). I apologize to the owners for mentioning PB so much, but hey, this place totally tops them in my book, so they should (hopefully) appreciate my 5-star review.

FRESH, fast and simple...is the magnet attraction here.

My "go to" place for teriyaki chicken and rice. They skimp on the rice and overwhelm me with chicken. I ask for all lettuce instead of the tempura that comes with the plate you order.

I crave rice after I eat here, but I still go because it's about two meals worth of food for me and it's really close to work.

Don't order the sushi or the bento boxes. They don't look good and I wouldn't expect it to be good either.

Non-Japanese staff.

This is NOT A RESTAURANT! Just order, pick up food and put in face. No luxuries, so don't expect it either.

Cash ONLY.

Satori Yoga Studio

So many changes...

Satori is downsizing to only one studio location. Moshka is closing. It's where both of my favorite instructors teach.

Amanda Dates is moving out of the country. Bless her sweet soul. I'm going to have to find a new studio that has the type of workout and flow that I need twice a week, plus some. So far no one can top what Amanda brings to my practice.

Paul Senechko is also leaving. Although I don't regularly go to his classes anymore--when I do visit from time to time--I leave feeling good. His last day at Moshka is September 30, 2008.

Alexandra Bradshaw has a kind heart and brings a warm feeling in her classes. It's nice to have more room. I've only taken a couple classes with her. I like her class, but I don't get what I need. I don't leave the class drenched from intense practice. Maybe that is because the room was cooler and less crowded, but I don't think I get what I come for in the power flow  yoga class. It was more of the mellow flow for me. She is a really nice instructor though. If she had more intense classes, I would definitely try them out.

I've decided to update my review because I have made adjustments to my level of yoga practice and am no longer going to the hatha yoga intensive [note: neck/shoulder killer] level 2-3 class. I did enjoy it, but somehow I hurt myself. It was so painful I completely stopped yoga practice for three weeks. I am finally healed, but feared going back and hurting myself again. So I went back, but this time started from the beginning again. I am enjoying the less intensive classes, but I don't at all mean the level 1-3 (mellow / power flow) classes are less of a workout.

Octavia Morgan (Beginner Iyengar 1-2 and Iyengar 2-3)
I am writing about Octavia again because I started her two classes the day I decided to get over my fears of hurting myself again and felt really good about the classes. I take both classes back to back because the first class is really mellow for me and I would rather be doing something than wait for the next level to start. Plus it's a good warm up. Octavia's classes have helped me improve my balance and made me stronger.

Amanda Dates (Mellow Flow 1-3 and Power Flow 2-3)
Simply an amazing instructor here. I love Amanda's teaching methods. She really knows how to work you and begin the flow (without killing you within the first two minutes) and progress throughout the length of the class. She is very aware and always on the lookout for everyone in her class. I also LOVE her music and how she naturally syncs our moves with the beat and different songs. Amanda has taken away all my fears of getting hurt in yoga. I'm so glad I've found her. Okay, enough mushy gaga. Amanda adds a great amount of core work into her sessions and they are bearable enough to actually attempt, no matter how hard or shaky I get from my weak belly or back. If Amanda taught more evening classes [anywhere], I would so be there.

[Sidenote: I want Amanda's playlists, I think she should post her playlist online after every session so we can look up what we worked to. I would be so happy if she would email them to me. Maybe I should ask.]

    04/2008 -- Updated to 10 stars

I've been working back in the FiDi for a few weeks now and I've discovered that I work directly across the street from Satori. Since then I have been taking different classes and experiencing different instructors.

When I practice yoga I need a focus and when I reach that I get an awesome workout.

Paul Senechko (Hatha Yoga Intensive Level 2-3)
I have become very attached to Paul's classes. The class I love is a two hour session and I love every single minute of it. I think it helps a lot that it's a small class (only downfall is the small back room that gets hot and full). Paul has a soothing voice that allows me to focus when I practice hatha yoga. When I focus, I forget about all my worries and stresses of the day. This is why I go to yoga.

Octavia Morgan (Beginner Iyengar 1-2 & Iyengar 2-3)
I took both of these classes in one evening because I wasn't sure how intense a level 1-2 class would be when I hadn't practiced in several months. Octavia went up to each new person and introduced herself as well as asked if there were any injuries or things we wanted to tell her. This is a very good sign of a yoga instructor. She wants to be aware of her students and what they are going through. The beginner class was more of a light warm up for me, I enjoyed the second class more and had a better workout.

The way I find a Yoga instructor is by taking a couple or more of their classes. I have to experience their teaching in order to figure out if they are the right one for me. Everyone is different and people have different needs. I have come to like Paul Senechko and make a point to go to his classes. It doesn't mean I won't go to others. It just means I found a way to relax and feel good here.

    10/2007 -- Original Review

I got what I needed here.

It's been a really long two days of my life and I needed some nice hatha flow yoga to free my body from some of the stress I'm feeling.

My first class here was a Mellow Flow 1-3 with Alexandra Bradshaw. The beginning was pretty mellow, enough to get me into the flow of moving though. The flow of Vinyasa became really fast for me. I think it's partially because I'm not good at Vinyasa. I would like to go again and get there before the class actually starts. I was bad and went in a bit late because I got stuck finishing up a project.

I didn't get any negative vibes from anyone here. That is one of my turnoffs when trying a new yoga studio. Vibes and ease of being new or unknown.

I bought the special new student pack $30 for 3 classes, good for one month. I am not sure where I'll be working after this month, so I am not ready to buy a larger pack of classes.

I'm going to have to give this place a very low review. I was unsatisfied with my experience. My coworkers chose this place. I had my hesitations, but only because I'm a picky eater and OCD about a few things as well.

I ordered the tofu yellow curry. Normally I would order chicken, but I felt like going light. The curry itself was very bland, could have something to do with not having that chicken flavor, but I'm not sure.

The reason for the low review is the soup. I guess lunch plates come with complimentary soup. If they didn't give that free soup to me, I would have been better off and given them at least two stars instead of one on this review.

My first spoonful of that free soup had a clear piece of sheet plastic, thick as 28 pound paper, larger than the face of my fingernails. See picture in the photos of the place.

I wasn't interested in having more or a replacement bowl of the plastic soup. I'm sure hoping it was just a back luck of spoon. I told the waitress and she said "sorry, would you like another one?" I said, "no, thanks." She went to the back dumped it into the dish tub and that was it. I mean, what else could she do? I don't know. I didn't expect anything either.

It just really kind of ruins your experience, eating someplace for the first time and having to spit out a piece of plastic that won't go down right likely because it's a piece of plastic.
