Taka-O is definitely good. The service is friendly, but not exactly fast - but you don't really want FAST sushi, right? Well, maybe we were really hungry, but the time was a little slow between items that were all ordered on one card and it wasn't all that busy on our late evening visit, so they lose a point for slow... but the rest was awesome.
The Aji, which I'd never had anywhere before, was absolutely wonderful. My friend described Aji to me as "the Toro of Mackerel" and I'm glad I tried it because I'm a huge fan.
The Oh-No roll is... OH NO... WOW! (excellent), as is the Hummingbird roll. The sushi here is worth the wait and is very good.
I almost went back for lunch today, but I got lost (tourist). I might go back for dinner!

It's OK as far as all you can eat places, if that's your thing. Of course, there's never much that's REALLY good in an all you can eat place and Souplantation is no game changer in this category.
The pasta looked like it was cooked hours earlier. The breads were hot, but kind of hard. The salad bar was OK and the soups were about the same, so the namesake isn't winning based on performance inside.
My friend out here loves the place. I doubt I'd ever go again unless I needed some air conditioning.

Where else can you order crepes and bubble tea right by the beach? Right here, that's where! Two businesses under one roof is a winning situation for you if you love bubble tea (don't order the chai whatever you do) and crepes.
It's just a little corner spot with metal chairs about a block from the beach, so don't take a date unless you're in a hurry (they're fast here). The food? It's fantastic.
Friendly people, fresh and tasty food, right next to the Pacific Ocean means you can't go wrong (unless you order the chai).

A friend of mine raves about the bubble tea here and that's what I should have gotten. For some strange reason, I ordered a hot chai.

Although I was immediately impressed by the layout of the place as I walked in, I can't say I really like Fruyu. They have a somewhat different setup, with self serve machines and it may have been the eleven screaming children that distracted me, but the idea to grab a container and fill it up was not evident. When I walked up to the counter, the guy working was somewhat disinterested, but explained to me where the cups were, mentioning the $0.38 per ounce and toppings... pretty simple.
Screaming and running kids turned into a sort of white noise/obstacle course as I sampled a few flavors that I was not particularly impressed with. Without trying a sample, I went with the non-dairy Mango (sorbet, right?) and loaded it up with blueberries.
It was nothing to write home about. This is a new location and it's the closest shopping center to a good friend's place, so I could end up here again someday, but I'm not going out just for Fruyu.

I haven't had the chicken yet, even though that was what a friend recently raved about that got me to stop at this rather difficult location for dinner. I'm glad I made the stop!
I've forgotten the woman behind the counter's name (but I took her picture). She suggested I try a seafood and rice dish that was fantastic. I would suggest using LESS shrimp but only the big ones. It seems Inkas idea is to load up the dish with a ton of tiny shrimp and put a few big ones on top, but who likes tiny shrimps? Just the big ones are fine with all the calamari and fish in this dish... SO good and SO much to eat!
I'm going back for the chicken. I'll report back!

This is down home cookin' at it's finest. The ribs were seriously as good as it gets and the pulled pork (of course I had both, you should too) is phenomenal. The service was friendly and fast. The macaroni and cheese is something I would go back for right now... it's that good.
Oh, and the apple dumpling with a scoop of ice cream that you don't have room for after all that food? Get it anyway. You won't be sorry.

Convenient, open late-ish and tasty. I'll probably go again for these reasons, but I've had a lot better.
These guys are super stingy making the sandwich! It was like they were eyeing out by the gram on meat and toppings.
They are quite friendly and the food is not bad at all. They need to load it up a bit more though!
What's up with the little round bowls for spice and oil? I watched at least 4 people sticking their fingers in that spice, so let's go with "DANGER" if you are at all concerned about flu or anything else that might linger on a finger.
