We were in a bit of a rush so we requested that everything come out as quickly as possible, which they did so points for that. Ordered up the sampler appetizer and were served two of each on the platter so I have to say that was inadequate however the portion for the actual dinner made up for that. The food overall was good although I have to admit, pretty standard for Thai. Nothing that really stood out or would absolutely require another visit. The curry puffs were delicious though, maybe the best part of my entire meal. Plus with the Happy Hour we got two glasses of wine for the price of one.

Slightly torn here... came here with two friends and we decided to go family style. We ordered plain naan, onion kulcha and the appetizer plate (which came with samosas, pakora, and papadum). Everything was well portioned for two people, not so much for three, meaning not quite family friendly servings. Plus just having to order plain naan is odd to me, but I'm not going to dock them for that. The onion kulcha was delicious with the raita and the naan.. well that was normal. We split the samosas and pakora but at least I can say I walked away knowing the pakora was good, can't really say the samosa impressed me.

We ordered the chana masala, lamb korma, and half tandoori chicken all at medium (we asked for pepper on the side). The food came out without the pepper on the side so my roommate who adores hot foods had to wait and the waitress had to be reminded to bring it out. I am generally not a fan of tandoori chicken but it was well prepared, tender, and overall good. Chana masala was decent with some good notes to it but I was sort of sad with the lamb korma. That plate came out with a few pieces of lamb which made us all wonder what would have happened if we did individual plates (someone would be starving). The korma itself was bland so I was grateful when the pepper arrived to give it that extra push.

On the bright side the waitress was accommodating when we requested wine and brought two tasters for us to decide upon. After the meal she brought us a shot of mango lassi which was delicious. So the service was great but the dishes were just not that impressive.

My friend and I decided to make a day of it by going here and the Socrates Sculpture Park and what a fine day that was even with the rain. This is a lovely museum that is accentuated by the open ceiling at some points and the gardens. Plus there's the small cafe located within the shop with some windows overlooking the gardens. Nice, good use of space and elements and informative -- a great collection and exhibit of his works.

It's a park but the lovely part is obviously the sculptures. Unique pieces that are perfect for the outdoors whether there's rain or shine. I love looking at the pieces that have been installed and watching the other peices that aren't done as of yet just alike. There's the workshop right there so you can also take a peek at what they are up to as well. All in all a nice experience.

Cheap and fast lunch for those days we're swamped at work. That's everything in a nutshell. I typically opt for the fresco menu so whatever I get is not too weighed down with oil or grease. Sadly I tend to cancel out the feel good effect of a fresco with Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes, but at least I don't feel as bad afterward.

 Update - 6/1/2009
Preface: Roommate is trying to get me into D&D.

We come over here as attempt #2 to get dice (attempt #1 was elsewhere on Memorial Day) so naturally with roommate and friend in hand, they both say just grab a set. So I grab one and a matching pouch then they mosey over to suggest not getting a set but rather personalizing it by getting individual dice. Then moseyed away, leaving me with a bunch of dice and I have no idea what to get (yeah, you say d4, d6, d8, d12, and d20, but do you know what that means to me? Nothing). So kudos to the people behind the counter who guided me through that.

P.S. Not knocking either of the two who left me to my vices there though. I'm going to assume it's somewhat torturous to watch someone pick a set of dice.

The roommate usually goes here and has a pretty good idea of what he wants while I'm idly standing by not sure of what I want myself. Today though, I was up for grabbing Gloom and the staff is very helpful and friendly -- so knowledgeable (which I gathered from previous visits). Overall a pretty good experience -- I wanted to linger some more but maybe next time.

Generally BK rolls with their crown-shaped tenders -- but this one gave me the star- and lightning-shaped ones. For that (and having such great portions) you get an extra star (plus the service was great).

Okay, our bad -- we came here really late, just before closing so maybe the guy there was kind of annoyed with us. Anyhow, they have a lot of flavours, some I know and some that were completely new to me so naturally knowing that I am going to buy, I at least want to sample. Well, it turns out you can only sample two and had I been aware of that I probably would have opted for the ones that were totally new to me. Anyhow, I sampled the Chiku and Masala Tea and settled for those two whereas Gabe had the sesame seed. All three were pretty good, though I preferred the lighter blends of chiku (which is sapodilla) and masala tea to end the night.

We sat outside the store to finish up our ice creams while the guy was cleaning inside. For the life of us we couldn't figure out why for someone that was rushing to get us out wasn't taking in the chairs or closing the door (at least I was wondering that anyway).

So the short of the long: Nice flavours and pretty good servings though not that great at sampling so you will likely be making more trips to get them all figured out. Try to not go late at night. They did sample both on the same spoon so make of that what you will. Kind of pricey ice cream... but I would likely come back out of curiosity regarding those other flavours.

I love when my roommates discuss whether or not to go here.

First time here so I just had to get the Eggs Louis because I love Eggs Benedict especially if it comes with crab and spinach instead (read that I like variations of the traditional Benedict, not just spinach and crab ;D). Pretty good, would have preferred it to be spicier but otherwise perfectly prepared with a nice helping of spinach which I love. The side of potatoes was a bit bland but I didn't mind as much as others in my party.

We ordered one blueberry germ pancake to at least taste it and that was also very good though by the time I got to it I was pretty full.

The food and service was overall pretty good but the wait was bad. Fine, you go with 5 people on a Sunday and you're bound to wait. However the coffee was all done and it was cold. When the majority of people were seated and we could finally run inside to wait, we realized some who arrived after us were seated already. Yeah at that point we wanted to call out the "List Master" to figure out what was up. Just as we were about to ask, we were seated.

Oh plus the decor is really nice.

Sears Optical

Admittedly I was a wee bit skeptical of this place but I decided to compare the websites between Sears Optical and Lenscrafter and although Lenscrafter has a bigger selection to view online, I didn't see any I'd actually like to have. So, knowing that Sears carried certain lines of frames that I would like, I went with them.

Highly impressed... Got there early cause I figured as a new patient I'd have some paperwork to fill out. Sure enough, I did but that didn't take too long and while the optometrist prepared for me and they worked out my insurance I perused the frames. Pretty decent selection overall then the optometrist herself was very nice and great to work with it. She explained everything she needed to do in order to make me feel comfortable. In all my years of having to take the glaucoma test, I've always hated it the most but it wasn't too bad since I warned her ahead of time. I haven't got my glasses just yet but since I had such a great appointment and overall experience there since they are so helpful I just have to review.
