Hey DC Yelpers!

We had our first happy hour event last month, and it was a blast. We gave out official Yelp goodies (pens, pins, YelpSticks and other fun stuff); and the folks back home even bought a few drinks for our budding community!  Let's keep it going and growing.  

Join us on THURSDAY, MAY 25th, 6-9pm (or a little earlier/later, depending on the night...) at Ri-Ra in Arlington:

Please respond to this message string so we can get an informal head count  to make the necessary preparations (c'mon, don't be scared to commit; I won't get crazy if you end up not being able to show). i have to be honest; i'm really not sure about the smoke factor.  the last time around, that wasn't a problem until it got to be later in the night.  (i'm used to california, where smoking was banned a long time ago.)

In about 7 more months, I'll be looking forward to the non-smoking places in DC. It's unfortunate that the other cities in the area are choosing to remain stubborn. Do you miss the food in Frisco? My wife and I can't find any comparable asian food.

I'll be there. Early on, smoke shouldn't be too bad. If there's a big band and the place fills up smoke can be an issue.

For those wondering about why Arlington doesn't ban smoking, I'm sure the County would love to. Unfortunately under Virginia law cities and counties cannot ban smoking - and with the legislature under Big Tobacco's thumb, I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Krazy D - I do miss the food, but I have to say that I've been happily surprised by some of my good finds here.  The Korean food, specifically, is actually better here.  What kind of Asian food are you looking for?  Maybe the Yelp gang can come up with some recommendations.

Stephanie N - there should not be cover, and if they try to pull something on us, I'll whip out my big guns.  ;)  

Looking forward to meeting everyone.  Let's try to use these last couple days to forward this event to people - we're getting more goodies sent our way!

I'll be there with a bunch of Yelp schwag. The first few Yelpers to come can get a free t-shirt - I was only sent a limited number, so that'll have to be first come, first serve.  Of course, I'll specifically be looking for the folks on this thread.
