Hello all!!

It's year #7 and I want to know if you guys and gals have some creative and/or good ideas for an anniversary gift for my man to make him super happy!  Btw, I already know that bedroom fun makes him happy, so we can all assume that's part of the gift unless you can think of something truly awe inspiring.....

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

Good question Angela--I have a big anniversary coming up too and it's also in the same time as both of our birthdays. I'm thinking cabin "camping" out in the county with fishing, grilling and s'moring. That and then an all-out geek-out complete with laser tag and the arcade! We're very easily pleased and you're more than welcome to steal the idea if that's what floats your hubby's boat.

Oh and then there's also our "booji" (yes, I know how to spell 'bourgeois') outing to NY checking out the usual galleries, fancy dinner and then some theater. Don't know which show yet so if anyone has any good theater suggestions/shows in NY in June-July, let me know!

Thea, I LOVE your camping idea....that's so cute!  He's not the outdoorsy type, but that laser tag idea might hit the geek spot and get some foreplay in.....

I think we're in between the "booji" and "geek-out"; the other downer is that we will attending a graduation party on our special day, so we'll have to scooch the celebration to the next weekend.  But, I intend on showering him with kisses and a small gift on our big day, so that's where these ideas will really help!

Angela, I'm not terribly outdoorsy either but he went there and assured me that one, the area isn't infested with mosquitoes but instead with bunnies and two, there's electricity, heating and AC in the cabins with REAL BEDS. It's also only $10/night. It's also close to a lot of farms so on the way back, we're buying fresh produce.

That's a cute idea, Lauren.  I had thought about that before, but for some reason, never did it.  He might like that.

Thea - this idea of yours is sounding better and better....infested with bunnies?  Not the kind with red eyes and razor sharp teeth, right?

Haha! I know that my friend and I both have anniversaries coming up.

Darn, I was going to suggest "bedroom fun". I guess that's obvious... ;-)

Why don't you go on a weekend retreat to a beach and stay at a romantic BnB? It's very romantic to be on the beach at night and cuddling under blankets...

1) He commutes to work by bike
2) He loves his gadgets (i.e. his iPod and PSP)
3) He loves Physics, Computers and Nanotechnology
4) He loves watching movies & playing video games

Ok, tangent time. I like how the idea of forever has changed in our society. Gone are the days when forever meant lifelong.

Back on topic, since he's a computer geek, how about a new laptop or something? I'd go with the vacation idea, but it seems like you don't want to spend a lot of money.

A weekend getaway to a nearby town/beach really isn't that much (definitely less than $1000). That is, if you don't shop at the outlets. You kind of have to. :-)

Jade - He would LOVE a scholarship to MIT....I just can't afford that.

We already have unlimited Blockbuster access....maybe a gaming subscription.

Saurabh - he's pretty white, so he'd prolly like a lot of stuff on the list...laptops can cost as much as vacations.  That being said, I've got $300 to spend on a gift.

hmm you could do a lot with those $300

1. Get a subscription to his favorite magazine - maybe Wired ($12 a year)
2. An Amazon gift certificate or even a nice book that you could enjoy with him.
3. An exciting dinner out (although I am assuming that's his job).
4. A nice cartoon portrait of you together like the one in my gallery.

Man, you gotta pay me for more ideas.

2. Super mini vacation (Skyline drive in Shanadoah)

3. Bedroom Fu....oh never mind

4. How about something he never knew he wanted?  Like a Keytar, a victorian steam powered apple corer, or a membership in a beer of the month club.  (okay, he probably knew he wanted that last one!)

He sounds like my boyfriend. In which case, right now my boyfriend just abandoned a bike LED project--LED lights on the spokes of your tires powered by the tire's rotation or something to that effect. Apparently there's already a kit out there. Other than that, there's this site: http://www.thinkgeek.com/ which is ok though I like http://www.boingboing.... better even though you have to skim through all the posts to find "stuff". There is a link to gadgets here: http://gadgets.boingbo... but it doesn't include stuff in the main blog *scratches head*. Also my boyfriend likes this magazine: http://makezine.com/ which I like too ;).

And here's several "of the month" clubs: http://www.igourmet.co...

How about a copper watch?  They are not very common and look cool if you like the rustic look.

How about these ...

1) He commutes to work by bike
- Get him a GPS for his bike. He can geek out and track his mileage, elevation, route track, blah blah blah.
- If he doesn't have a messenger bag, get him a Timbuk2 to carry his crap around.

2) He loves his gadgets (i.e. his iPod and PSP)
- Check out Bluelounge Sanctuary. It's a all in one charging station for all his gadgets.

3) He loves Physics, Computers and Nanotechnology
- Get him an ambient orb. Tres geeky and stylish.
- EVDO card. Of course, then he'll always be on his computer...

4) He loves watching movies & playing video games
- Slingbox so he can watch movies on his computer at work or on a connected device.

4. Only interrupt him during commercial period
5. Do not walk in front of TV to block his view

Whoa people.

Just because she mentioned that her bubby/bf is a nerd doesn't mean that you have to throw in all the wicked cliche ideas like G4 subscriptions, video games, magazines, etc. I mean, think creative.

Unless he's in his teens, all those ideas, frankly, suck :)

Thank you all for the suggestions!!  I went with Sam R.'s idea and bought him a bike GPS system as a token of my love and of course, to keep me lusting after his sexy legs.  Man does he!!

YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!!  THANKS FOR THE IDEAS - FEEL FREE TO SHOOT THE BREEZE WITH more....I've got to figure out a romantic scenario now.  I think it might involve me visiting him at work with some great food and some Battlestar Gallactica....and a Brazilian.  Ok, maybe not the last item.....
