Nida, the talk threads are just an open conversation forum - any responses we type (like this one) are seen by everyone. Same for what you type. If you'd like to be notified by email when someone replies to the thread check the "send me email" box, next to the "reply" button. (You'll have to post a reply for this to take effect.)
You might also try using the Yelp "maptastic" feature on the main page to help you search for places to eat near foster city. Or the "Search" function up at the top of the page.

Welcome to Yelp, Nida! I guess it depends on the type of food you want to eat...there are some pretty good restaurants (Indian, Mexican, Japanese, pizza, burgers, etc.) in San Mateo, especially aroud the movie theatre.
Are you looking to eat at a more formal or casual restaurant?

If Burlingame isn't too far for you, go to Ramen Club (if you like Japanese food):
http://www.yelp.com/bi.... Their ramen is good, but I never order it. If you like ramen, though, it is excellent. Anything on their "Specials of the Day" menu is usually fabulous.
