My Fiance has been going crazy looking for a Japanese restaurant that also serves curry pan? He is from L.A. and I don't know if it's an L.A. food only. For the life of me I cannot find any place in the City of San Jose that carries it. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Sorry if I'm not familiar with it, but what is curry pan? I know of a few places that serves Japanese-style curry, but I don't know if curry pan has specific ingredients.

Sounds yummy! Unfortunately, I don't think I've seen anything around here. If he ever finds a place, let me know... BTW, have you tried all the places in Japantown near downtown SJ? There are some authentic Japanese places there, but I've only been a couple of times, so I'm not familiar with the menus.

Japantown in san Jose I think last time we where there it was a Holiday and most places are close. If you can recommend a place we would surely try it.

Hmm..try Japan Town (either in San Jose or SF) or Clover bakery (as some one kindly mentioned before me! )...Better yet, I can make it at home. Easy but time consuming...: )

Curry House has just opened in Cupertino. The locations in LA serve Curry Pan (mild, med and HOT), hopefully the one here will have it too!

I wouldn't say that it is like a croquette since there are also croquettes with curry in them... In Japanese, the word "pan" is derived from the French word "pain", meaning "bread". Curry Pan (or kare-pan) then would be a bread with curry inside of it... :D On the other hand, the only kind I have ever had were ones that I had bought out of convenience stores, so not sure how different it would be to buy from a bakery... if you're in SJ, I am pretty sure that the Clover Bakery next to Mitsuwa would have some though...
