http://P.camemberti and/or Brevibacterium linens). The spores are added to the milk at the time of heating and adding the coagulant, and are what makes soft ripened cheeses soft and creamy.
You can eat it if you want, although some people don't like the texture and just eat the paste, or creamy stuff.
If the mold was blue, and it was a soft creamy cheese, the cheese is probably bad. If the cheese were a firm cheese, just scrape the blue off and eat the cheese.
