2 days ago I wrote a two star review for Ocean Avenue Books - afterwards the owner started sending me crazy and threatening emails. Tonight I get a knock at my front door - I open it and a woman tries to force her way in and I had to wrestle with her on my front steps. Finally I was able to shut the door and call 911 - the police showed up and took her away. Turns out it was the business owner! How did she get my address???????

I'm now completely freaked out - need to go to the police station tomorrow and get a restraining order

This is a matter for the police and the courts who will, if they see just cause, issue a restraining order which you will then have to have served on her.

In the meantime, you may want to close your account for your safety, after you have made copies of your review and all of her comments and any communication you have had with yelp HQ.

Um, seriously? What kind of "calm and rational" business owner sends a Yelper 8 threatening messages that are harassment and calls a customer a pussy and stupid and then claims he was drunk, when Yelper Sean C. has no photo!!! How could she possibly know who he is when he came into her store?

A normal, level-headed person doesn't send EIGHT threatening and harassing messages to a person, spread lies that he was drunk and abusive in her store, and then show up at his RESIDENCE and has to be escorted away by the police! That doesn't sound like a normal person!!!

Also, if this woman doesn't know you and you say you've only said hello to her, then how does she know your name, much less where you live? If you bought something from her with a credit card, sure I can see how she got you name, but you said that was not so. It just doesn't add up the way you tell your story.

Regardless, I do wish you well. If this woman attacked you, and it was unprovoked, the judge will side with you.

Thanks, Diana. But considering this just happened like an hour ago, the report may not even be in their computer or accessible records yet. Also, SFPD is a huge jurisdiction with thousands of cases a week. It's not like it's the small city of Brisbane. So this is so recent--this happened tonight!

In your reviews you mention your neighborhood, and if that's really your first name and last initial, it probably wouldn't be too hard to do a search on a website like http://whitepages.com and narrow the results down to your neighborhood to track you down.

I shouldn't have opened the door - we dont have a peephole - I looked out my bedroom window and thought it was my neighbor from across the street.

I didn't go outside on the steps - as soon as I opened the door she immediately tried to force her way in - I was able to push her outside and was trying to pin her down incase she had a weapon. finally I was able to get the door shut and locked

Yelp should really consider letting users moderate the business owner comments and flag when they appear slanderous and inflammatory. The owner can then bitch to Yelp HQ if they feel it's unfair.

Yelp never has our home addresses when we register for an account, and since Sean doesn't have his real photo up, there's no way to know which of the 5,000 or so "Sean C."s on Facebook would be this one. My bet is that she PAID someone who knows his address. That's bribery....how could she have possibly known his home address? Someone had to have tipped her off.

She didn't follow him home because he wrote his review a day or two AFTER he went to the store. Someone needs to call Robert Stack, because this is an unsolved mystery!!

The subject of violence against men by women is often snickered at. But the fact is a woman with a bat, gun, knife is just as dangerous as a man. And it's just as illegal. I have known guys who were scratched across their face, punched or hit with bats and they are just supposed to take it.

We are taught not to hit a woman so we are at a great disadvantage. Thankfully police take this kind of thing more seriously then back in the 1990's when my GF held a loaded shotgun to my head.

Yesterday I got a temporary restraining order against her signed by the judge. The Sheriff's office will serve her with the papers today. I'm still waiting to get more information from the police report. I'm going to call the District Attorney's office today.

His post reads Leave negative reviews...........so if you look at the owner in question they now have several 1 star reviews written by people who haven't visited (TOS anybody?) and these reviews were left by people who maybe dont know the whole story (not saying this incident at his house didn't happen......but would love to hear her full version)

He also wonders how She found his address but in his reviews he writes about moving into a neighborhood very close to this place in question. Ocean Avenue books is located at 1735 Ocean Avenue.........read his review for San Francisco Meats & Delicatessen where be talks about "I just moved into the neighborhood and needed a place to grab a sandwich before I go to work every Saturday." This Deli was located at 1330 Ocean ave. He also has reviews for Lucky Ocean Donuts 1501 Ocean Ave ...............Miracle Cleaners 1701 Ocean Avenue
