We're usually drunk here so our advice would likely be you; should do shots when you take it and then yeah, you'll puke and lose weight.

Gil "chickencat" S. says:
Reading around, it doesn't sound like a particularly effective weight loss medication. It's a very common drug used for various purposes, anti-depressant and quitting smoking. In those cases it slows but does not prevent weight gain vs. placebo but is no better than other drugs. Used for weight loss alone, the effect is statistically significant but not great enough to be worth the risks and disadvantages of putting a drug with many side effects into your body -- several pounds at most. If you really want to lose weight there are better ways. If you are taking it for other reasons and you're worried about weight loss, you may need to supplement your diet.
That's just reading. If you have real questions, ask the doctor who prescribed it. That's what they're there for.

Rose-
Not sure about the weight loss.
I tried Wellbutrin years ago and it made me really shaky and I had a piercing headache.
I called a nurse's hotline and she said the shakes are common for smaller people.

Apparently, there have been some studies that show it can cause weight loss and some people are using it "off label" for this purpose. Personally, I don't think that's a great idea.
There is some research out there on this, though.

some people lose weight on it and some gain weight on it.
you shouldn't be taking it as an appetite supressant.

But, I gotta say I agree with those that say taking something like this just to lose weight is probably not a good idea. The potential side effects are just not worth it.

my hubbie I think used to take it, didn't work out very well. Bad side effects but it didn't cause him weight loss.

Wellburtin can cause impotence in some men, but for others delays orgasm by a considerable amount. Therefore the extra time in the sack can cause weight loss.
