As you know from my constant self-promoting, I edit a publication called
TheNaughtyAmerican.com.
I just came across a study suggesting that Philly Intl is the best airport for making a love connection because of its combination of bars and flight delays.

BTW, San Diego ranks 30th, mainly because the good weather means a high rate of flights that go out on time.
My question is: Have you ever hooked up with someone you met on a plane or in an airport?

I met this Latina cutie on a flight from El Paso to Dallas-Fort Worth on a weekend trip few years back. Got her number but didn't call her while in Dallas, since we were both spending time with family. Few days later we were coincidentally on the same flight back to El Paso, sat together, conversed, got her laughing, etc. I think a date would have been in the cards if I was actually gonna be around the following weekend (I was deployed to Iraq the next Sunday). Bad timing.

Actually, the airport was Dallas Love Field, not DFW Intl Airport. What an aptly named airport, won't you say!?!

I met a girl a few months ago in the Vegas airport... my flight was delayed so i went to the bar. A seat opened up next to this cute brunette, so i plopped down. A couple awkward minutes of silence went by - then we started chattin..she was traveling back home to San Diego as well... yada, yada, yada... we go to board the plane and i whispered in her ear "can i sit next to you?"... she blushed! Good sign. Yada yada... she offered to give me a ride home so i ditched my ride that was supposed to pick me up (take a guess).. and we headed to Old Venice for dinner. It was a good time.. we made out like school kids. I should call her... :(

Rich, I was just at Love Field last month. No love for the baggage handlers.
I did have a guy chat me up at the SFO BART stop.

I'm not surprised that Philly is a good airport for that. I got stuck overnight in Philly on my way back east last December, I think I was there for 14 hours total by the time I got on the plane. I wish I'd met someone to hook up with to pass the time, but I just made friends with a friendly couple as we waited, and waited, and waited. On my way back, I randomly got bumped up to first class and chatted for quite a while with the law student at USD sitting next to me. We even waited for our luggage together, awww. It would have been the perfect opportunity for a number exchange...but no dice.
Chicago O'Hare is my favorite airport to fly through, I'm passing through it on my way home this December...bummed to learn an airport hookup is not in the cards.

I have always had some good luck in two airports... The first of which is Vegas, the second of which is going to Dallas or in Dallas. I used to travel a lot now not so much but if i were a betting man I would spend my time in DFW.

I met this Amazingly Hot Mexican beauty from SD to Vegas for the De La Hoya flight. We chatted it up and by then end of the flight, I had her number. We were gonna meet up in Vegas but I didn't bother. I did invite her over for dinner one night and that was it. She was dumb as rocks and not much personality.

In this order -
JFK: loads of places to chat people up over a glass of wine on that looooooooong layover. Someone for everybody.
Heathrow: lads from all over get friendly on those long immigration queues.
Frankfurt: lovely misterious types who could for all accounts and purposes be international secret agents. Exciting.
San Jose - Sunday and Thursday nights - cute techies.
San Diego - nil. No pubs, bars or restaurants to hang out in. Somehow - it's a bit of a transaction - you're in, you're out.
LAX: yuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
