I'm looking for barbershop near UTC/La Jolla/Mira Mesa that can do a good fade. More points for technical merit than stylistic effort.

There's Mesa Barbershop in Mira Mesa, right next to the L&L in the shopping center with the Vons and all that. $6 cut, and good staff.

Also, there's Happy Barber on Clairemont Mesa Blvd.  Similar pricing, but a smaller shop.

I hit a little place on Miramesa blvd right behind Mr Wasabi.  The girls are all Viet and do a pretty good job.  They pay a lot of attention to detail and are not bad to look at either.  I think its about $10 but I have never had a bad cut.

Twee (Spelling) is probably my favorite one.  Always give the best cut and for $10 she can't be beat.

9379 Mira Mesa Blvd according to google.

I second Benji's recommendation for the place behind Mr. Wasabi.  Just make sure you let the girls cut your hair and steer clear from the guy

There's one in North Park that is apparently amazing. I don't know that for sure, but it has a huge sign that says "Best BARBER shop in North Park." Oh, and they have cool pictures. Hahaha....

The place that Benji and Vi N are referring to is called Cutting Image.  I've had all four of them cut my hair at some point.  I would second the recommendation on Thuy.

Another vote for lefty's. I've tried those cheap $6 places in Clairemont Mesa and I felt like I could've done a better job myself! I can't explain it, but if you're not asian, they cannot seem to figure out how to cut your hair. Definitely not meant to be a racist comment, its just how things go there. Go to clairemont mesa for food, not for hair cuts.  :-P
