So I pass these damn Billboards on my way home everyday....has anyone actually gone on the safari? Im not sure what "texas style" means so I was just curious if anyone has gone and what their experience was....

It is really cool actually. For the safari, you stay in your car, and basically it is a drive thru petting zoo, with zebras, camels, ostriches, and more. My only beef is that it is a bit pricey, I think like $12-$15 per person, not as a carload. They have food that you can buy to feed the animals. Of course they have a little gift shop, as well (not drive-thru..haha..) All in all, its a cool way to kill a few hours.
The caves are up there too...and are really really cool. Its a steep hike down and back up, and it's guided, so you can ask questions, but you can also pretty much move at your own pace, as they don't rush you much. It's like 98% humidity in there, and about 75 degrees all year round, so some find it uncomfortable, but all in all way cool.

Yeah, just be careful with the feed being in the car with you! I went when my family visited and my mom had an open bag in her lap... well a deer stuck its head in and swiped it straight out of her hand! Bag and all! She closed the window right after! LOL

LOL...that's so funny! The same thing happened to us, but with the Zebras....he reached across the passenger seat to me in the drivers seat and snatched my bag. My 10 year old niece, who was in the passenger seat about peed herself from being scared and laughing so hard all at the same time...this thing just pinned her back, and went for the bag. I still crack up thinking about it...LOL To this day (she is 13 now) she says she is traumatized by zebras, and anything zebra print. : )

My brother and I took my nephew to the safari about 5 years ago and my brother got attacked by EMUs through the window. It was hilarious. There was EMU saliva all over the windows. I remember my brother and his wife saying, "At least the car's a rental!"
The caverns were definitely a neat experience. If you haven't done it before, you might as well if you're in the area.
