Hey there, 2 adults, 2 kids going to Chicago for 2 days for spring break.  Staying at Sheraton on Water.  Want great restaurants close (within walking or short cab or El ride) that won't break the bank.  No chains please.  Definitely pizza.  Mexican or Italian too.  Deli maybe.  Any help would be appreciated.  Want to show the kids a good time.  They are 8 and 12, and not overly picky.  Thanks!

Gino's East is the place to go for pizza! Ed Debevic's is fun for kids but I do believe it is a chain. (a very small one) I hope that helps a little.

Well I suppose Gino's is a chain as well so I doubt that will help but it IS the best.

THERE IS SUCH GOOD EATS IN CHICAGO! Defintitely try Joy's on Broadway for great asian at ridiculous prices. There's a great ice cream / candy place across the street and you can take a nice long stroll up & down broadway to burn off your meal.
