Anyone know a Japanese market in the east bay? I want to pick up some Matcha and some Matcha chewy candy.

Thanks.

Tokyo Fish Market on San Pablo in Berkeley and Yaoya-san on San Pablo in El Cerrito are two that come to mind.  I don't know if Musashi on Dwight in Berkeley is still open.  Berkeley Bowl will probably have matcha but maybe not candy.

thanks. tokyo fish market indicated they normally have the candy but were out of it, but i did buy my matcha there. I'm going to check out Yaoya-san today--I didn't have time a few days ago to do both.

Berkeley bowl definately doesn't have the candy.

Does Maruwa have a storefront location anymore?

Give them a call, they're in El Cerrito and have Macha and Macha candy.

I don't think there's a Maruwa storefront in El C.  I've lived here for 6 years and the only Japanese markets I've seen are Yaoya-san and Ichibankan which doesn't carry as many food items.
