Laura L. says:
Anybody out there that would recommend a really good physician? General Medecine would be fine or, particularly, somebody who has some expertise in Diabetes management and care. I would like someone who is really, actually smart, considers more than just symptoms, diagnosis and pharmaceuticals, and has a compassionate manner. I know it's asking a lot but if you've you got a great physician, I would love to hear about them! I'm in the East Bay but, if the MD is great, I'll travel a bit. Thank you!

If you don't mind travelling, I'd check out Peggy Newcomer, DO. She is board-certified in family practice. I referred my wife to her and my wife loves her! While not being an endrinologist, she is well-versed in the conservative and pharmacologic approaches to diabetes. The thing I like about her is that she takes her time and gets to know her patients. Check out her Yelp reviews... Good luck!

I use to go to Dr. Michele Bricker when she was still with Palo Alto Medical Foundation. I say use to because she moved her practice somewhere in Orinda (East Bay Internal Medicine). I went to her for eight year and what I loved about her is she tries to get to know her patients, has good bed side manners and actually listen to you. I was very disappointed when she decided to move her practice and had a hard time finding someone as good as she is. I've read positive things about her on the Berkeley Parents Network that are worth checking out. Good luck.
