Ever been to Berkeley or some place with educated women, and you see the ubiquitous Purple screw top water holder?
You know the ones with the lines that measure the amount of water in there?
These have always annoyed me. It's like an accessory for those women who want to look "healthy". Especially when they are clipped to their backpack next to the Obama 08' patch.
Well bad news, break out the mason jars Mrs. Berkeley.

Tsada someone gave me one of those klean kanteens for Xmas and it is fabulous.
While you're alerting people about the dangers of plastic (and they are legion, the dangers), why not include babies and their plastic bottles? And men, you think they don't suck on a Dasani?

old news. this issue with plastic leaching has been talked about for years. i've had a kleen kanteen for a year now and filter all my drinking water through a multi pure.

Kenny "The Gambler" R. says:
me too. god bless the kanteen, its just quality.
Yes, Men women babies all suck. Its about awareness of what's out there. Phtalate-free baby bottles are the ONLY way to go.
Sara, I don't think people(most) are hip to the fact about "Plastics". You filter Oakland water, thank lord it's the dirtyest. SF has the cleanest water.

That's it! The work week is over, and I'm going to Berkely or some place with educated women STAT!

Sara "Woefully Unemployed" F. says:
kenny, actually ALL tap water in the usa has pollutants and chemicals that are dangerous for us to drink. we had a water researcher come speak to us about safe drinking water a while ago. multi pure is the only water filtration system in the usa that filters out most of the harmful chemicals.

Thanks Sara. That's really interesting.
I hope I did'nt sound like a dick earlier, I was just making a joke about posers. But Male Water Consumption has to be lower than a Women's. My male friends and guys I know hardly drink water that I can recollect. Am I wrong to think women I know are FAR more health concious and drink more water? And I think it contributes to the Male's early age of death compared to Females.
I came across this article and it's worse than I am haha-

It is best to avoid soft plastic food containers in general but it is crucial never to HEAT food in soft plastic containers. Heat releases the poisons.

I've been following the BPA story for two-three years now, and Canada has banned baby bottles with BPA. Here, organizations are still insisting BPA is safe. Just check the news and you will see the JPMA came out for it! Crazy.

Kenny "The Gambler" R. says:
Thank you Jennifer.

And I'm not angry at Berkeley girls. I'm alarmed the US don't know bout BPA. If it's a Urban Legend or "Old news" many of the population don't even know about this.
And it's never too careful to know what you are buying, eating, drinking etc

Sara "Woefully Unemployed" F. says:
that's because the majority of american's are clueless when it comes to health issues, research, politics etc etc.

Thanks Chrystal, I have'nt thought about THAT way of BPA exposure.
Some the info posted here is so useful. I'm glad that people are having input that is so crucial to our health. I mean, giving off gases?

That's why I only drink out of puddles of rainwater that collect in my driveway. I don't want none of them BPA bullshits in my water.

I love people who read one news story and accept it as complete fact. Next week they'll tell us the BPA is just fine, but it's the water that is killing us.
