Ah, I need a little help. A few of me and my friends have close birthdays andgwe are all interested in going to a fun restaraunt, with good atmosphere, great food of course, and a nice cocktail/wine list. There is so much to choose from. Does any one have any ideas?! Something a little different? Thank you!

A few places my friends and I have celebrated our birthdays are:  Rosa Mexicano, Balthazar, Pastis, Schiller's Liquor Bar, Union Sq. Cafe, Spice Market and Lupa, my favorite being Spice Market for the exotic food and decor.  Downstairs, there are private rooms for small parties.  If you haven't been to Spice Market, I suggest you go first to look around and see the decor and read the menu.  I don't know your price range, but this is a splurge.  However, birthdays are wonderful celebrations and life is too short.  Wherever you go, have a happy one.
